The Avro Vulcan was a jet-powered, delta-wing strategic aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force. Its design was so new that the manufacturer built several reduced-scale prototypes to test the delta-wing principles. The aircraft was also notable for being part of the UK's nuclear deterrent during the Cold War and was the second of the "V-force" aircraft, alongside the Victor and Valiant.
