The National’s Story

The National is Scotland's only pro-independence daily newspaper. Ok... the Yes campaign failed to win in 2014, but the referendum changed Scotland forever and the constitution battle is being fought on different territory ... for now. Since the vote we have seen a surge in membership of the SNP, the Scottish Greens and other parties which supported independence. A total of 1.6 million people voted yes to independence on September 18. We are proud to give them a voice every day.
