PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE - SPIDER-MAN SET GLASGOW:

With a lot of excitement around the filming of the new Spider-Man movie in the city centre, we wanted to share this post from our friends at No1seems2care to make people and families aware of an incident that happened on Tuesday afternoon with a young girl who was with her friends.

Please share to help raise awareness to help keep our young women safe.

"Hi, I just wanted to send a message for awareness as I know that lots of children, families and young people are excited to be there for the filming for the new Spider-Man movie.

I was hoping the Police Scotland might have issued a statement or warning but as of yet [Sat 9th August] we’re still waiting to hear back from them.

On Tuesday 5th August, my 14 year old daughter and her friend asked if they could go to the city centre to watch the filming of the new movie. I her around 12pm to check on her and they were in watching the filming and all was ok.

Around about 1.30-2.00pm she became aware of a man stood directly behind her friend and she became uneasy as he was right behind her friend, It was not that crowded and for a better view he would have had to stand more in between them. We have always told her to keep her wits about her, so as she was watching the filming she kept checking back and noticed the man bumping into her friend a few times and when my daughter looked again, the man had his ge****ls out exposing himself. My daughter panicked - and froze after she realised what was happening, and she tried to tell her friend but when she repeated herself louder, the man pulled his top over himself and turned quickly to walk away.

The girls were in shock and approached a security guard to advise him (who said he would make a note) and the girls didn’t know what to do so just left. My daughter phoned me very upset and panicked and I advised her to start making her way home and I would meet her.

I have contacted the Police and made a report. They’ve took an initial report but we’ve not heard anything since and with filming still happening I want to warns others as I don’t believe this will have been the first time due to how brazen this man was.

We are horrified and my daughter and her friend are so upset and anxious now as what was a fun day out in the busy city centre in broad daylight has became something so horrible.

Description of the male. Light brown skin, black/dark hair which was wavy, around 5’7, early 30’s w/ glasses, goatee.

As I said, the girls were in shock and scared so didn’t make a scene at the time but there was a small group of people around them including a man with a child on his shoulders and a young girl/lady sitting on the ground.

We are not sure if anyone else saw anything but if they did we would ask them to contact the police if they can help.

Thank you"
