Unsub Actors At UnSub Actors we run classes and workshops for actors. We are based in Glasgow and our workshops are lead by the top people in the industry.

We run workshops in Theatre, TV, Film, Audition Technique, playwrighting, singing and creating your own work. We aim to provide workshops for professionals by professionals,so that an actors training can continue throughout their career. The workshops vary in length from an afternoon to 2 weeks and concentrate on a specific skill, play or style. Workshops are lead by top Industry professionals in

Chandra Ruegg started working in the industry as a child actress. After more than twenty years, she decided to move into the world of casting. Her first stint was assisting Amy Ball on Dance Nation at the Almeida Theatre. From there she assisted Charlotte Sutton at Chichester Festival Theatre, for two seasons. For the screen, she has worked in the Casting offices of Nanw Rowlands assisting on Outside The Wire (Netflix) Voyagers (Lionsgate) and Censor (BFI), Andy Pryor, Lauren Evans and Olivia Scott Webb. As of Jan 2021 she became an associate for Sophie Holland Casting working on the Amazon Series The Peripheral and Netflix/MGM Series Wednesday. Other credits include upcoming feature Ballerina with Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armis,The Witcher and Censor.

Faye Studied at Goldsmiths University. She worked as an agent for three years before moving into casting. Recent credits include The Witcher, Shadow & Bone S2, YOU S4, Vampire Academy, The Playlist and RIPD 2. Faye is also the Casting Director for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Forum.

Marianne Smith
Marianne has worked for the past five years at Kahleen Crawford Casting across various TV and Film Projects. Recent credits include all three series of BBC Scotland’s Guilt, the upcoming Bad Wolf/ITV series Red Eye and Brock Media/Arcade Pictures upcoming film The Outrun.Other TV credits include the first series of Irvine Welsh’s series Crime and BBC’s The Nest. Film credits include the feature film Our Ladies and the Ken Loach film Sorry We Missed You. She worked on the first series of CBBC’s Princess Mirror Belle and has recently been involved in kids casting for the development of a new untitled Musical Theatre production. Marianne also works as an actor across TV, Film and Theatre.

Lisa was an agent at Independent Talent for 8 years representing some of the biggest actors in the industry. She set up her own agency Lisa Gardner Talent in January.

Film, TV and Theatre Casting Director-Annelie Powell (Theatre includes Royal Shakespeare Company, Paines Plough, The Almeida-Screen includes Luther: The Fallen Sun, Young Wallander,Deep Blue Sea 3, Apple TV’s Trying)

THIS IS A GROUP WORKSHOP SO SPACES ARE VERY LIMITED.

Please note that the set up for this one is a bit different to the usual casting workshops. This will be a group workshop so you will be required for the full three hours. Full details below.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PREPARE A SHAKESPEARE MONOLOGUE OF YOUR OWN CHOOSING FOR THIS WORKSHOP. THE MONOLOGUE MUST BE UNDER 2 MINUTES.

After a brief introduction Annelie will work with the actors so that they can bring their third take into the audition room, on the first take. She will then spend time with each actor working on their prepared monologue. Annelie has requested each actor prepare a Shakespeare monologue that is under two minutes. She will use your chosen monologue monologue to work with each actor on notes and redirect the piece.

We are delighted to announce our one day Casting Workshop with Casting Director Annelie Powell. Annelie casts for both theatre and screen. Full biog below.

SCREEN
Annelie Powell has worked prolifically in Television casting, both prior to and since her 5-year tenure at the Royal Shakespeare Company. She has worked with NETFLIX, VIACOM, APPLE, BBC, ITV, NICKELODEON and CHANNEL 4, on a myriad of T.V. projects from multi generational family comedies to hard hitting police drama’s. There are also several episodes of Crimewatch which she had a hand in casting several years ago, which proves that for some, crime really does pay.
THEATRE
Following five years casting at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Annelie was appointed Head of Casting at the Nuffield Southampton Theatres in 2017 and has also continued to work as a freelancer since. Annelie is incredibly passionate about seeking out exemplary, diverse performers and has a wealth of experience drawn from new writing, to the classics. She’s worked with The following theatres THE ALMEIDA, BIRMINGHAM REP, HULL TRUCK, REGENTS PARK, THEATR CLYWD, THEATRE 503, HAMPSTEAD THEATRE, ORANGE TREE, ETT, HEADLONG and upcoming projects include ROUNDABOUT SEASON ‘ 22 for PAINES PLOUGH, KATHY AND STELLA SOLVE A MURDER!For FRANCESCA MOODY PRODUCTIONS, and the upcoming MISCHIEF SEASON at the ROYAL SHAKESPEARE COMPANY.
