Statement of Support

The EDIT stands in solidarity with the GCU staff taking industrial action in opposition to proposed job cuts and continuing threat of compulsory redundancies.

We understand that choosing to strike would not have been an easy decision to make. However, staff are left with no reasonable alternative following unsuccessful ACAS negotiations.

As a student media organisation, we tully support their decision to exercise their right to take industrial action. Whilst the disruption to your studies is understandably frustrating, please respond with patience and understanding whilst staff fight to protect jobs and working conditions, as it is all in the best interest of GCU in the long-term.

We hope a fair and secure resolution can be reached so staff can return.

Statement of Support

The EDIT stands in solidarity with the GCU staff taking industrial action in opposition to proposed job cuts and continuing threat of compulsory redundancies.

It’s that time of year again! Submissions for the 2026 Freshers Edition of The EDIT are now OPEN‼️

Submit an article by 21st August to have your work featured in our first print edition of the year. To submit, all you have to do is email the editor your finished piece - please note that all business & technology and news & features articles must be submitted to the editor in chief at this time.
