Its not something i often let happen. Very few people have held my huntsman. They are truely like my babies.

And they are pretty fast and have a habit of freaking even experienced spider handlers out, many balk at the thought of a huntsman teleporting to anywhere on your body in the blink of an eye. Not everyones cuppa.

My partner has always feared them. Even looking at them is sometimes enough to give her cold shivers. I am incredibly proud of her. Not only for letting me keep them, but for facing her fear.

Handling a male Holconia murrayensis (Murrays banded huntsman.)

Just to prove how calm this species are. I love working with this species. Having had 6 generations within my care. I understand what i can and cannot get away with. Im so excited for these guys maturing. My favourite species, they truely are gorgeous.

VOLUME UP!

That crunch! A very happy Liromepotum cf coronatum (Black faced pitbull katydid.) Crunching another locust.

They really are fierce micro predators.

Breeding season going into 2026 will be exciting with four spider species already on sacs.🫣
Ive been rather naughty and not shared that with you all!
Many are firsts for us and we wanted to wait and see how they progressed.
We now have some moving around inside sacs 😁
Several more species paired, some maturing and more ready for pairing.

2025 has been good to us, meeting many old friends and making many new ones as well.

I think heading into 2026 we will see lots of progression in projects many years in the making.

To all of you, i wish you all a great new year when it comes.

Lang may yer lum reek !

See you all 2026!

Big love

Kyle.

Fresh livefood, getting fed and watered for the geckos, spiders and katydids this is a very important step.

Gutloading is where livefood is fed on nice fresh nutrient dense food. This should be done for 24 to 48 hours before feeding to your pet.
Im using apple with beepollen and discus flakes.

I also provide fresh water via a finch feeder.

And dry foods of various mixes. I have just unpacked over 1000 feeder insects. Takes just as much time maintaining the livefood as it does the pet species.
