We’ve been selected to take part in the CoSTAR Ideate Residency 2025, part of a groundbreaking national R&D programme designed to supercharge creative innovation in the UK.

We’ll be collaborating with the CoSTAR Network and working across the Real-Time Labs in Dundee and Edinburgh to prototype our next big immersive experience.

This is a huge step for us and we can’t wait to share more as it unfolds.

SUUM Studio Announces Groundbreaking Investment for Music Industry Innovation!
We're thrilled to announce a significant investment from Innovate UK following our success in the Creative Catalyst competition!

This funding will fuel the development of a revolutionary software concept: a 3D digital social space specifically designed for music professionals to deepen fan engagement and unlock new revenue streams.

Some more exciting news for the animation industry - Dreamworks' has announced it will release its renderer, MoonRay, as open-source software. It's exciting to imagine where this might go in a couple of years with community involvement.

It used the tech in movies such as 'The Bad Guys' and 'Puss In Boots: The Last Wish.'.

Since working at SUUM, I've noticed that they don't only work in Glasgow but they also work FOR Glasgow too! Here's a previous concept design that SUUM made for the Glasgow City Council as a part of their enivornmental regeneration project. This is a concept for a small interactive installation in a city centre lane. Personally, I think a wee urban oasis like this would be awesome location to chill out in.

For a new television series centred around unusual and extraordinary holiday disasters, SUUM created 3D animations and motion graphics for title sequences and chapter headings. Their visual style for the series was cohesive and bespoke, adaptable to each show’s different narratives and really captures our shared sense of disaster being afoot!

Today I had a look at the animations SUUM created for the Scottish Album of the Year Award. Their animations balance the sleek professionalism of the event with somewhat playful elements. Most interesting to me though, is how the animation also functions as informative visual, showing the process of how an album is selected to win.
