Mornin’ gang 🖤

Just one more sleep until lands in Glasgow and I’m oscillating wildly between excitement and mild existential panic. 😱 😅

This is without a doubt one of the biggest nights we’ve ever put on. A genuine icon, someone we’ve admired for years… Now she’s coming to play our wee party. No danger! 😮‍💨
We’ve been rampant all week prepping music, checking lists, re-checking lists, re-questioning life choices, all the usual pre event chaos. Promoting isn’t exactly a spa retreat for the mind, but we do it because we love this stuff. 😬☺️

Very ready to see everyone tomorrow and hope everything clicks into place. If not. Least the tunes will be good.

Our very own is back on Bloop London Radio tonight for the final instalment of his our residency.

Amidst all the madness in the lead-up to our huge party with Magda at next month, hes found time to get back in the studio to putting together this mix and work on a load of new material for the label (something we know hes been keeping a little quiet about lately... But it’s gonna be worth the wait).

Expect the signature minimal, groovy flavours plus a few of Modats own records for good measure this time! 👀 (a rare treat, since they don’t tend to play out their own tracks often enough).

This one also marks the final Bloop show for now, making it a special and slightly emotional moment. 😩We’re incredibly proud to have represented the label on such a respected platform and share music from so many of the artists we love.

Magda , a true visionary who transcends Djing, headlines our ‘return’ night. We also thought what better space to host this than where it all began for us back in 2017. The amazing . 😍

After two years off the radar, The JJ events series makes its long-awaited return. Reinvigorated, redefined, and ready to make noise. We’re relaunching with an icon who embodies everything the underground should be: bold, boundary-pushing, and endlessly inspiring.
With roots in Detroit’s underground and a well earned global reputation , Magda brings a fearless, avant-garde energy that has reshaped techno, minimal, and beyond. From her seminal mix She’s A Dancing Machine to her pioneering work with Items & Things, she’s carved a path that’s uniquely her own.

To make this even more special, it marks Magda’s first Glasgow show since 2009! A long-overdue return and we are more than ready to welcome her back! This night marks the rebirth of Johnny Johnny Records, and we couldn’t imagine a more powerful way to set it off.

JJ founder modat has also invited a staple of glasgow for many years & founder of festival .sharkey1 to warm up our return perfectly. 🙌
