Known for his dancefloor-ready sound built on powerful low-end frequencies and abstract textures, ._ will share deep insights into his production process—from idea to finished track—in Ableton Live. He’ll walk you through his creative workflow and break down one of the tracks from his recent Existential Archetypes EP on the label.

Beyond his own music, Kabay is an experienced educator who focuses on creativity and authenticity in electronic music production. Check out this video snippet of Simon (aka Petrichor) using the Space Echo on his track Koh-Rah: "In it the Fender Rhodes is running into my Eurorack modular and being modulated along with some vinyl crackle samples, field recordings and granularised Rhodes recordings. The output of everything is then running into the RE-201 Space Echo to be dubbed out to oblivion."

This is the third post in our series on legendary equipment that shaped the sound of electronic music.

The Space Echo is a tape delay unit that’s been used by countless producers to add warmth, depth, and that unmistakable analog vibe to their tracks. What set it apart from older tape delays was its free-running tape system, making it more reliable and portable, also avoiding noise or flutter! It quickly became a staple in genres like dub, techno, and experimental rock.
