Recent changes in UK law—specifically the Supreme Court ruling that defines “woman” in the Equality Act as “biological female”—are deeply concerning. This decision means trans women can now be legally excluded from some women-only spaces, even if they have a Gender Recognition Certificate.

While protections under gender reassignment still apply, this move feels like a step backwards. We believe everyone deserves dignity, safety, and equal rights, and we’ll continue to stand with the trans community through it all.

Chloe and Jack’s wedding at The Fife Arms Hotel was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Braemar, this venue is a true gem that combines luxurious charm with the raw beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Every detail of their day was perfectly curated, from the intimate ceremony in the grand hall to the stunning art-filled spaces that gave every moment a unique backdrop. The day was capped off with a fantastic party all brought together by . (Fun fast they were also my wedding band 14 years ago!)

A few years ago, I (Simon) turned to Gregg with stars in my eyes and announced, "I'm going to write a book!" The idea was buzzing around in my head, filled with visions of pages upon pages of insights, stories, and tips for wedding filmmakers and photographers. It was going to be epic—a resource that our community could dive into, learn from, and be inspired by.

But as I started to brainstorm and plan, something else began to take shape. We realised that while a book would be a fantastic project, we wanted something more dynamic, more in tune with the ever-changing world of wedding filmmaking and photography. We needed a space where we could regularly share new ideas, feature guest experts, and stay current with the latest trends and techniques.

So, instead of a book, we launched the Perspective by Cinemate Journal!

The journal is our digital hub, designed specifically for wedding photographers, videographers, and content creators like you. It’s packed with valuable insights, practical tips, and stories from the trenches that you won’t find anywhere else. We wanted to create a resource that’s not only informative but also inspiring—a place where you can keep up with industry trends, refine your craft, and connect with a community that shares your passion for storytelling.

🎉 Just wrapped up an incredible time at Photography Farm’s , and what a blast it was! 📸✨ We, Simon and Gregg, had the awesome opportunity to capture the event, diving into the heart of creativity and innovation.
