We had the pleasure of chatting with Matthew from the LEAP Project about their refurbishment project of the Halfway Library being transformed into the Halfway Community Hub.
Mathew shared some background information on the Community Asset Transfer, refurbishment progress and their vision for the use of the hub space for the community for years to come.
A big shout out goes to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to the project clearance and to everyone currently involved who are offering their professional expertise with labour and materials. Without this support, the project would not be able to materialise. Funding is scarce in the third sector in our current financial climate.
If you are curious to learn more and follow the refurbishment progress you can do that by following the Leap Project on Facebook for regular updates using the link above ☝️
The project need a total of £3000 to reach their goals for the refurbishment and have recently launched a GoFundme page which will be used to reach their targets.
If you would like to invest some funds into the Halfway Community Hub space, you can make a donation using this link below 👇

You will be contributing to a non profit community organisation who serve the over 50s in our community with a wide range of social activities that would otherwise not be running and more importantly, was originally founded as there was very little on offer for this cultural need in our neighbourhoods.
We wish them continued success with the refurbishment and we look forward to its opening at the end of the year 🤞
We are grateful that projects such as Leap have the courage and the backbone to take such projects on during these times for the community they serve 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
This is a testament to the board and everyone at the team at Leap for their commitment to the people in the community they serve.
