First trip to Harelaw for me this year - don’t know how that is possible frankly…!
These are stunning, as you come to expect from Imac, and I wish I could remember what her dad and I are talking about, but there is a missed opportunity here for a cracking shot of a best man running DOWN the aisle mid ceremony because he was “sans rjngs”

Imagine being the person who did the very first one…. I mean I was nervous enough at MY first one, the very first ever though!! YIKES!

In this special instalment of our celebrant interview series to mark 20 years of humanist marriage we speak to Ivan Middleton. Ivan, now retired, was a celebrant and Secretary of Humanist Society Scotland. He made history, delivering the very first legal humanist wedding ceremony in Scotland for couple Karen and Martin.

I had the absolute BEST day with Laura & Will!
I wasn’t legally marrying them because BOOOOO to England not having Humanist weddings yet, but it was a corker of a ceremony - 6 guests got to take part in my (completely invented) “affirmation ceremony” - say yes to the wedding, get a shot - thanks to Tenmen, Stoner, Ben, Shiver, Kim and Carron for being such good sports!

Massive massive thanks to the fragrantly delightful who made the whole thing stress free, and a bloody good laugh to boot! Here’s hoping our paths cross in the future!

Fraser & Lauren.
Selfie with couple? Obligatory.
Photo-bombing father? Optional but welcome.

This story had everything. An excellent first date tale - an even better early dating tale involving Fraser being put to bed at HIS house party and all his pals having a rare old night with Lauren - whom they had only just met. Not surprising though - she is grade A banter.

A room bursting with love, hundreds of laughs - but for me, the favourite bit will always be watching the Bridesman come into the room and start heading down the side of the seats because the aisle runner had been ribboned off at the start to keep it clean - cue guests, groom AND celebrant all gesticulating wildly to him to indicate he had gone the wrong way.
A beamer you could see from outer space made even the groom relax…..

Top day. Loved them.

Nikki and Stevie are the couple you hope for - the best fun, the most chill, and yet Nikki should plan the Oscars - she knows how to put together a party.
The best day with them, and all their family and pals - the story was a beaut to tell, Nikki’s son walked her down the aisle and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, and then it was good vibes all day long!
The new room at is stunning - and for a wee Brucie bonus we thought we were getting a beach proposal before the wedding started….. we didn’t. Sad face.
