Delighted to be sharing news of the release of my first musical collaboration with acclaimed UK soprano, Julia Doyle. ‘Kyrie’, which features Julia’s glorious vocals alongside pipe organ, saxophone and cello, is an arrangement of the first movement of my Missa Brevis (Short Mass). Recorded by Simon Kiln in Temple Church, London, ‘Kyrie’ is out now on iOcco Music. Accompanying Julia is acclaimed jazz saxophonist Konrad Wiszniewski, organist Roger Sayer and cellist Peter Gregson. More news on 'Kyrie' coming soon. E🎹

Really enjoyed chatting with poet and presenter Len Pennie this week on BBC Radio Scotlands The Arts Mix about ‘Kyrie’, first movement from my forthcoming Missa Brevis and debut collaboration with brilliant soprano Julia Doyle. Discussed the benefits of composers and instrumentalists working with singers - from understanding vocal melisma to how the sound of words alone can inspire an entire composition. Great to also speak with poet/librarian Hannah McCooke, who, whilst releasing a new single with Tinderbox Collective is also spearheading a brilliant campaign in conjunction with We Make Music to make musical instruments available to borrow from libraries!
