Maker Heights, Cawsand & Kingsand.
Took a road trip to Maker Heights, Cawsand and Kingsand—places I used to visit so often they felt like a second home. Maker Heights Festival was once my world, where I stewarded and worked radio-controlled security, surrounded by friends who became family.
I hadn’t seen many of them in years. When mercury poisoning caused my legs to collapse, I turned inward, searching for answers, and in that quiet struggle I lost touch. But Maker remained close to my heart. It was a place where I felt free, welcomed and deeply loved. Brothers and sisters from other mothers and fathers—my soul family. The wild countryside and sweeping coastline always pulled me back, urging me to dance, laugh and just be with my people.
Visiting again after so long felt incredible. Familiar, healing, and full of memory. And we’ll return—back to the souls who made that place feel like home.
