Now is the perfect time to have a good clear out of your shed and apply a maintenance coat of Wood Paint on the exterior to protect it against the winter elements.

While the shed is nice and empty, painting the inside of the shed will not only offer further protection to the interior timber but it makes it easier to clean and a lot brighter.

For large sheds, summerhouses and garden buildings, painting the interior can transform the space into an outside room, giving you extra space and a little haven in the garden.

These buildings by have been painted with Thorndown Wood Paint to create beautiful spaces to be enjoyed all year round. The artist's studio painted in Whey White provides a warm and bright space to create in; the garden 'lounge' was painted in Greymond (a sophisticated off-white with a hint of grey) with Greylake on the feature wall to add a gorgeous contrast; and the kid's escape was also painted in Whey White then filled with a cosy rug and furniture along with favourite items for them to play with and books to read.

August Bank Holiday Deliveries 🚚 📦

The factory and office will be closed on Monday 25th August to enjoy the bank holiday and hopefully more sunshine. If you want to get busy with a paint brush then please order your paint in plenty of time for courier and postal deliveries.

COURIER DELIVERY: order by 12.30pm Thursday 21/8 for delivery Friday 22/8 but ordering earlier is advised in case of courier delays

POSTAL: all 150ml sample tins and craft packs are sent by Royal Mail 48hr small parcel service so place order by 12.30pm Monday 18/8. If later you can contact the office to request an upgrade to next day delivery

Painting your fence is one of the easiest ways to refresh your garden and create a beautiful design space whilst prolonging the life of your timber fencing.

The very lovely Luke recently embarked on a total redesign of his back garden and wanted a paint colour for his fence that would create a relaxing and stylish backdrop that would also compliment and emphasise his planting.

I was very excited to discover I had missed interview with the amazingly talented Lucy Gough , renowned interior stylist and art director.

Lucy appeared on the podcast years ago but returned to go in depth on her very successful book ‘The Home Style Handbook’ and hugely popular design courses.

Wayne used one of her key design tips when decorating his new home, choosing 5 colours in a comprehensive and complimentary palette to paint his entire home with (using Thorndown Wall Paint), saving hours of poring over colours and arguing with his family about colour choice!

It's a fab and very inspirational interview and you may find yourself signing up to one of her courses!

The very lovely Louise Gookey talked to Wayne about her career from the theatrical stage to presenting on the main stage at The Ideal Home Show and her role as a sustainability advocate and ambassador.

She gives some great advice on how to reduce the use of single use plastics in the home and how to shop sustainably rather than adding to the fast fashion landfill mountains that are choking the planet.

Wayne Perrey interviewed Anthony Henn in a funny and very honest chat about his life, career and genius idea -

He can design a bed for you and send you all the plants along with a planting guide, all in compostable material that just sits in the garden and gives you instant glory!

I'm pretty green fingered and can grow from seed, but having moved to a house with long overgrown or non-existent beds and a drawer full of plants torn out of magazines that I'd like to see sitting in those spaces, I love the idea of working through my plant wish list and having someone who really knows what they're doing, coming up with a planting plan that will work, then delivering it to me along with all the plants!!

The exceedingly talented sculptor Ian Gill Sculpture joined Wayne on the TV Carpenter Podcast to talk about his sculpting and role as a presenter and mentor on the BBC series "Make it to Market". Ian began as a blacksmith apprentice before studying blacksmithing at college.

His natural aptitude for working with metal has seen him become a specialist with creating large steel sculptures that have found homes all over the world.

If you've been to Chelsea Flower Show or Hampton Court you've can't have missed his impressive award-winning displays showcasing his incredible pieces of work.
