Solid rehearsal session last night at Hot Cat Studios, a first visit for us at this location. Loved the drum platform and comfy chairs, thanks Sam for the warm welcome.

We still have a few more weeks of personal commitments ruling us out before we're back performing so have a great weekend. There are loads of other great bands playing this weekend, share the love 😘

Morning everyone!

Here are some changes we’ve made following feedback from you lovely lot:

📚 - More Booking Times: From today, you can enjoy rehearsing at Hot Cat Studios in the weekday from 14:00. New slots 14:00 - 17:00 and 17:00 - 20:00 are available now.

🎸 - New Equipment: We hope you enjoy using our new Vox and Marshall rehearsal amps, included as part of your booking. We’ve also replaced the bass cab with a new, shiny one. The Ashdown cab plans to make a return in the future once maintenance has taken place.

👟 - New Rugs: Out with the old, in with the new. The new rugs not only enhance the acoustics in the room, but also move us toward the clean, chilled-out vibe we’re after.

🧹 - Regular Cleaning Rota: Being in a warehouse, it is a challenge to maintain cleanliness. To tackle this, we’ve implemented a regular cleaning rota.

💵 - Pricing: Unfortunately, the start of our journey has come with around a 20% increase in overheads (rent, bills, insurance etc.) compared to when Smokestack were here. Due to this, we have had to increase our hourly rate by around 10%. Our pricing is still competitive and we believe our rehearsal space is the best around.

STUDIO UPDATE

After 6 years, we’ve made the difficult decision to call time on Smokestack Studios at the end of March.

It’s not always been smooth sailing, but it’s been a pleasure to get to know and work with hundreds of local musicians over the past few years, all whilst fulfilling our childhood dreams of running a recording studio. We’re grateful for all the support you’ve shown us over the years.

But fear not! Your musical needs will still be met…

We’re thrilled to be passing the reins to Hot Cat Studios, who will be bringing fresh energy and new ideas to the space. More will be revealed soon.

This page will officially become Hot Cat Studios on April 1st, and you’ll still be able to book rehearsals via Jammed as usual.
