Local Information - Local Gov Reorganisation

Here's a little explainer about the upcoming local government reorganisation, it's going to revolutionise our local politics and bring more power and money as a combined authority where we can pool resources.

Proposal one is most likely (see below), which would see our peninsula merge with Havant, Portsmouth and Fareham.

This will also streamline options for you when you need assistance, rather than having 3-5 local representatives able to push issues onto different levels, they have to take responsibility.

MILITARY HOMES REFORM - Gosport 🚨🏡

If you're going to read one of our posts, make it this one. 🤝🚨

Your Labour Government announces homes fit for heroes, bringing military homes back into public ownership and unveiling a vast array of changes to improve living standards in our plan for change. 📈

In Gosport there's 1062 military homes, of which 854 of them were brought back into public ownership in January 2025 among the 36,000 nationwide in the reversal of the disastrous Tory privatisation. 💸

We're also announcing a new consumer charter for families in military homes, raising move-in standards, refitting the worst homes, more reliable repairs and a named housing officer for every community. 🔨

This not only raises living standards, but alleviates a £600,000 daily charge on the British taxpayer, that's Labour economics - better services, in public hands, at a lower cost. 🌅
