Out on location today for a client!

I'll be spending the day capturing photos and videos content for their socials and live posting of their conference 😁

I love these days supporting my clients and learning more about who they are and what they do 🥰

Plus, a day at a business conference is no bad thing for this Social Dragonfly 😉

I just have to remember to look up from my phone 😆😆😆

Not another selfie showing a tired AF business owner who has been at her desk working since 7:30am!

😴😴😴😴😴😴

Because if you've been here for some time, you know I'm not one for mornings 😵‍💫

I don't like meetings before 10am because I barely function before then without gallons of coffee ☕️☕️

BUT!

Today, after I had a spectacular mindset shift on Friday, I knew I was not going to get everything into my day working my "normal" hours 😱

So, here I am... working hard 💪 and there will be some new things to be announced soon 😁

I can't wait to share them with you!

There might be "no such thing as perfect" but I'm bloody trying!

Next week is the Bold Voices Live Event and I am doing my best to ensure everything about my speaker slot runs seamlessly!

Wednesday, I was writing and rewriting my slides... 🖥

Yesterday morning, I was agonising over my entrance music... 🎶

Last night I was pulling my hair out with my digital downloads and email automation 📧

There's a reason why I specialise in social media marketing! Because I honestly don't excel at other aspects of digital marketing... I don't enjoy them (and some of them just plain baffle me!) 🤣🤣🤣

Social media marketing is where I excel, but I know there are other elements and I have to do them for myself 💪

Today, I will be putting the final touches to my presentation, then it's all down to rehearsing it until I can do it backwards 🥳

Some of you may have heard me mention that I have been attending rehearsals...

But would you come to see me in it if I told you when and where?

For a long time, I used to keep the different elements of who I am and what I do separate... you'd only know about all the things I do in my "spare" time if I let it slip to you 🤐

This year, I decided to stop that 🚫

I started talking more about the volunteer work that I do, my hobbies and interests... all the things that I help my clients to do 🥰

But! I'm still not sure if you would come see me do the things I love to do 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, that could have been embarrassing!

😳😳😳😳😳

As part of the Self Made Speakers Academy at the weekend we were all evaluated on our LinkedIn profiles...

Now, don't get me wrong, mine does need a few tweaks and updates 🫣 (something I'll be doing this week)

But! I did not expect this! 😱

Dr Byron Cole and Bianca Miller - Cole gave me top marks on my profile 🥳 and gifted me an interesting book for scoring so high!

When they were talking about it and building up to whose was the best all I could think was "Oh my God! What if it's not me?"

Which sounds really arrogant and egotistical, but when many in the room knew that my specialist area is social media marketing... how could I think anything else?! 😣

Thankfully, it was mine that they rated so high 😍

There are so many memories from the weekend that I could keep talking about it for weeks to come!

It wasn't my intention to make someone cry...

😢😢😢😢😢

On Saturday at the Self Made Speakers Academy I made one of my fellow attendees cry 😬

It wasn't what I wanted to do! 🫣

But we were talking LinkedIn and our profiles and headlines...

I'd heard her story (and, boy! it was a powerful one!) and I'd listened to what she wanted to achieve with her speaking and business venture...

When she asked me what I would suggest for her headline I paused for 5 seconds and then gave her an idea 💡

We locked eyes and hers started to well up 🥺 in 0.2 seconds she had gone from powerful and passionate, to crumbling...

She excused herself from the room and a member of the team went out to comfort her as the tears began to flow 😭

Immediately, I felt awful 😖

I had made someone cry with my answer 😱

When she came back in the room and to the table, tears still in her eyes, she explained that she was so moved by my suggestion 💜

She said I had seen and understood her story so well and captured it in a simple, catchy sentence 😍 she said she never felt so valued 🥰

We've since set up a call to have a full profile review and to see how I can help her to grow on social media 😁

I can't wait to watch her fly 🧚‍♀️

What a weekend it was!

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Many of you saw that I had a bit of a nightmare getting down to London for my two day Self Made Speakers Academy 🔊 but that was just the beginning!

I met some truly amazing people, heard some fantastic stories and made connections I'll never forget! 😍

Yesterday I delivered the opening three minutes (give or take some technical issues - it had to happen to me!) of my keynote speech 💬

It packed a punch 👊

I saw at least 3 people in the audience welling up, and so many people came to talk to me afterwards about it...

Because I talked about my miscarriage 💔

I wasn't sure I was going to include it until yesterday morning... when sat eating breakfast, thinking about my speech 🥐 I realised that if I want to inspire people to tell their story, and their truths on social media, I have to start with talking about how I shared mine 💜

Thank you so much to the Self Made Speakers Academy team for all your support and insights 😍 this weekend will be one I won't forget for a long long time!

Wow! Where did the time go?

⏰⏰⏰⏰⏰

You might have noticed that I haven't been posting much recently - chalk it up to a very busy couple of weeks 😴

First week I had The Land of Hops and Glory Beer Festival that I organised with a team of volunteers in St Wulfram's Church ⛪ our biggest attendance since 2021! The people of Grantham and beyond almost drank us dry! 🍻

Last week was the amazing Norwich Beer Festival held in two different venues in the space of a week 🤯

Sadly, the signal was rubbish in Norwich for me to be posting and catching up with all my online friends 💜 but I had an amazing time as part of the stewarding team (think "security" but more friendly!)

Yesterday was a whirlwind of catching up on emails (I still have 167 to go through!) and meeting with new clients who signed the contract while I was away with the festivals 🥳

So, please bear with me as I catch up with everything I missed while I was away from my desk 💻

I've also lost my voice while I was away (I blame the air conditioning of the buildings I was stuck in 😂 always plays havoc with my throat!) so emails, texts and messages are my only form of communication until I can regain my voice! 🤐
