Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Final Episode.

’well I guess It’s now time to explain myself’’ Henry muttered , breathing heavily. We all nodded, eagerly waiting for his own side of the story.

‘’I met comfort through my cousin some years back and as a young man was very much attracted to her, but her behavior kind of pushed me off because the silly girl simply friendzoned me upon everything I did to win her. So I had to walk away and move on with my life even though I still saw her occasionally through my cousin until she had problem in her department which she needed cash to settle. I cashed in on the opportunity, had s*x with her and gave her the money. Ever since then, she totally blacklisted and turned me to her enemy.

She stopped every contact with me and having nothing to lose I equally avoided her until about a year and half later when Caleb invited her to my hotel.

The damn girl pretended not to know me and I equally pretended not to know her since I knew all my friend Caleb wanted was just to catch fun with her. I felt telling him about our past would definitely spoil his game and as a friend, I kept my mouth shut and allowed him to catch his fun but soon afterwards it became a constant thing for both of them and before I knew what was happening Caleb started avoiding me.

I tried numerous times to reach out to him, but he always had an excuse to avoid me. Of course I wasn’t a fool to force myself on anyone. So I also had to keep my distance until I read on paper about him taking advantage of a student and putting her in a family way. And the girl in question was no other person than Comfort. I tried once again to reach out to my friend but he still avoided me. Isn’t it so’’ he wrapped up, throwing a quick look at me. I nodded with embarrassment.

‘’’however , I forced myself to visit him in his office few months later, after reading another publication posted about him and Comfort. At first he wasn’t too pleased to see me, but later confided in me, telling me his story. I really felt pity and wanted to help, even though deep down I felt comfort’s child wasn’t his, knowing the girl’s history. Nevertheless I offered to help out in getting a house for Comfort, which I did.

I desperately looked for a way to get Caleb suspicious of the girl’s pregnancy without being too direct since I wasn’t sure if the baby was actually his or not and so had to tell him the truth about Comfort’s doctor, hoping that it will give him enough reason to be suspicious which it did but unfortunately the baby turned out to be his child after the second DNA test was conducted, clearing every suspicion.

But I don’t know how comfort found out that I had a hand in it and called me for the first time to threaten me. According to her words, Caleb is the reason she’s still alive and if I should take him away from her. She won’t have any reason to live again and she won’t go down alone. She threatened to kill Caleb, Jessica and everyone who stood in her way before committing su***de. Of course I knew she was deadly serious about it and had no choice than to keep my mouth shut for Jessica’s sake. The poor woman has no reason to die over something she knew nothing about. I kept quiet to protect Jessica and her baby. Still the damn girl shot me. She tried to kill me’’ he summarized with a heavy tone, leaving the room deadly quiet after his long speech.

Story title: Mr. Lecture Season 2 Episode 44.

‘’I have to go check what’s going on out there’’ Henry muttered , bravely heading to the door but my mother in law instantly stopped him.

‘’no my son it isn’t safe. Let’s wait till the detective returns’’ she said , stopping him. I swallowed hard and shifted nervously on my bed. I was extremely scared. I just couldn’t wait to find out what was happening outside. I just couldn’t imagine who the gunshot we all heard was meant for.

‘’oh Lord protect Jessica. Keep her safe for me’’ I prayed silently.

‘’hey brother what’s up?. I just got back to the city yesterday only to learn from detective Johnson that someone shot you’’ Henry suddenly said to me. I breathed deeply and stared at him accusingly.

‘’you have a lot to tell me. You have a lot of explanation to make. you have to start talking’’ I said seriously. He shrugged, drew closer and held me by the shoulder.

‘’yes I know I do have a lot of explanation to make’’ he muttered slowly, but before he could go further, detective Johnson walked into the room, sweating seriously.

‘’she got away. The damn girl was smarter than I imagined. She fired into the air as soon as she left the hospital reception area, creating chaos that made me lose her. Nevertheless she dropped my gun outside the hospital gate. That girl is something else’’ the detective explained, settling my mind with the explanation. I instantly thanked God that no one was hurt.

‘’you guys do have some explanations to do. I’m still unable to understand the drama that played in this room some minutes ago’’ he pushed on, throwing a sharp look at me. I smiled nervously, nodding at Henry.

‘’I guess Henry has a lot of explanations to make because I’m also confused’’ I answered, turning everyone’s attention back to Henry who shrugged and breathed deeply.

Just that moment, Jessica walked in with my parents and my good old friend, my parish priest, making the room a full one. I smiled with great delight on seeing them all while Jessica instantly looked around with suspicion.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 43.

‘’you know you aren’t getting away with this. You better surrender, let’s end this peacefully’’’ the detective said professionally but his words had no effect on comfort who simply laughed.

‘’seems like you didn’t understand what Mr. Henry said to you?. Mr. detective, I have nothing to lose, moreover how will you stop me from getting away?. You are all alone with no backup. You are facing my gun’’ she said with a soft laugh.

‘’and who told you I have no backup?’’ the detective asked.

‘’I know you came alone. You never expected to see me here’’she answered with a shrug.

‘’don’t be too sure’’’ the detective stammered, trying his best to talk Comfort into putting down her weapon but his words failed to have any effect on her.

‘’Comfort why are you making things more difficult to you?. You can’t get away with this’’ I managed to say.

‘’don’t worry about me, I have always been in difficult conditions. This isn’t an exception’’ she replied and eyed the girl standing with Henry.

‘’even you?.i thought we were friends’’ she said to the girl who almost pi**ed on herself out of fright. It was very obvious the girl, Henry and comfort were somehow mixed up in something I just couldn’t place my hand on. It was very clear that Henry knew so much about comfort that he admitted to me.

‘’I think the best option should be for you to leave now that you have the chance’’ Henry cautiously muttered, drawing back comfort’s attention to himself.

‘’you had the chance to help me when I so desperately needed help but instead of helping , you felt it was better to take advantage of a helpless girl. Don’t even try preaching any nonsense to me’’ she shouted at Henry, Cocking her gun in the process.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 42.

Comfort sat beside me, felt my pulse and breathed deeply.

‘’I’m really very sorry my love. you know i never meant to shoot you. I even risked everything just to be with you right now. I know the police are already looking for me’’ she muttered and swallowed hard.

‘’you shot me’’I said accusingly.

‘’you know I never meant to. You are the last person I will ever hurt deliberately’’she replied slowly as tears quickly filled her eyes.

‘’but you were in my house to kill my wife? What did she do to deserve such attempt on her life?’’ I queried breathlessly. Her eyes quickly lit up. She bit her lips and closed her eyes for a second.

‘’she killed my baby. The damn woman killed my child with her trickery’’ she exploded, shaking with rage.

‘’she got in my way. She refused leaving you for anything’’ she poured out like someone possessed with a bad spirit. I felt like slapping her that moment not withstanding how weak I was. I really was filled with anger, but couldn’t do a thing.

‘’I wasn’t born to be a desperate cold hear-ted girl but the world pushed me into it. I was raised in a very poor family where I did everything to survive. I had nobody to help or provide for me like your parents did for you. In the process, I was used and dumped countless times by men like an old rag. I never believed in love until you came into my life but everything still turned against me. You were married. You never loved me. We cant even have kids. Nothing has ever gone well for me’’ she poured out miserably.

‘’I have decided to leave. I have decided to free you and your life. I’m leaving the country. I’m traveling to Ghana. I have concluded every arrangement and I used part of the money and things I got from your apartment to get it done. A cab is waiting for me outside. I don’t think we will ever meet again. But you need to know that the love I have for you is greater than what your wife feels for you. Before I leave, I do need your forgiveness. I’m sorry for shooting you. I’m sorry for messing up your life’’ she breathed solemnly. I just couldn’t believe my ears. I just didn’t know what to tell her. Nevertheless i was glad she was about doing the right thing even though i felt she was going about it the wrong way.

‘’you are not doing this for me. I know you are running away’’ I breathed. She stared at me for some seconds, shook her head and breathed deeply.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 41.

I opened my eyes to find myself in a hospital. My wife, my mother in law and detective Johnson were all present with a look of concern on their faces. I tried to smile but was unsuccessful. I tried to talk but couldn’t.

‘’oh dear Lord, he’s finally awake’’ Jessica breathed happily, handed over my little daughter to her mother, drew forward and sat beside me on the bed, touching my chest.

‘’baby’’ she breathed. I tried once again to force myself to talk but still couldn’t.

‘’please relax dearest. You are still in shock’’ Jessica said softly. I speechlessly stared at her as I slowly remembered what put me on the hospital bed. I quickly remembered Comfort. My heart beat quickly increased. I became overly scared.

I was scared because comfort was still free out there, probably lying in wait for Jessica and my little daughter. No one was there to stop her. I alone knew what the damn girl was capable of. She shot me for God’s sake.

‘’I think he’s trying to say something but it’s a pity we have to wait till he recovers his speech’’ detective Johnson said aloud and shrugged.

‘’my God who could have done this to you. You have been here for almost eight hours. Two bullets were removed from your body. Luckily none of your vital organs were hit but you lost a lot of blood’’ Jessica said to me. I felt very bad. I cursed comfort for putting me is such lame condition. I cursed the day I met her. I simply stared at my loved ones unable to say a word.

‘’well I think it’s a case of robbery gone wrong. The hoodlums must have seen you and your mother leave the house and never expected to find your husband at home. A scuffle ensured and he got shot. They then went ahead to ransack the whole apartment and steal every valuable thing they could find. The most confusing thing here is why none of your neighbors saw a thing?. I guess they are scared of getting involved or they don’t trust the police. None of them are saying anything and I cant even find the good neighbor who used your husband’s phone to call me. She really saved his life with it. I guess we have to wait till he gets better. Perhaps he can give us a lead.’’ the detective summarized while I listened painfully. I just couldn’t do anything than listen.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 40.

I returned to my house with a very heavy mind. i was so hungry, scared and uncertain of what next to do. Jessica hugged me as soon as she saw how scared I looked.

‘’I believe she’s hasn’t showed up yet?’’ she asked. I nodded and shrugged.

‘’that girl is just out to ruin us. We really need prayers’’ she breathed, and of course that was what I definitely needed the most. I needed God’s help in dealing with the situation. I couldn’t believe Comfort disappeared to take her own life. i just didn’t know what to believe anymore.

‘’dear LORD help me. Help and lead me to the right path. Haven’t I suffered enough?. I have learnt my lessons already. Please I beg of you, help me out please’’ I prayed earnestly.

I woke up the next morning with a terrible headache. It was as if someone was hitting my head from inside with a hammer. I couldn’t even get out of the bed. Jessica as usual was very concerned and caring.

‘’I think you should take a rest today. You haven’t relaxed for quite sometime now. Please stop stressing yourself’’ she begged as she gave me paracetamol which I took and slept off again, waking hours later to see her dressed for outing.

‘’I’m going to the hospital with our daughter. Mum will accompany me because we will spend some time with dad at his house. You know we haven’t seen him for a while’’ she explained with a sweet smile.

‘’okay dearest just be careful when you leave the house’’ I added softly. She stared at me with surprise, drew forward and kissed me.

‘’is there anything you aren’t telling me?’’ she asked.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 39.

’what!, I can’t believe this’’ I shouted,

‘’you have to calm down sir, you are in a hospital’’ the doctor begged.

‘’ the poor boy is just the end result of your mistakes with my cousin’’ he added,

‘’but why didn’t you tell me all along?, why keep such thing away from me?’’ I asked angrily, but my question kind of made the doctor angry.

‘’listen mister, you have no moral justification to be disturbing my peace this morning. You never showed any atom of care or love to the boy. You virtually left him all alone with his mother, so why the sudden interest?. If you have any questions, you should direct it to comfort and not me. She was very much informed and aware of the child’s condition. Please you should leave my office now’’ he said seriously, leaving me short of words.

‘’damn you Comfort’’ I hissed, ran out of the doctor’s office and headed back to comfort’s house. I really wasn’t thinking straight. I just wasn’t myself. My mind was full of anger and hate. I couldn’t believe Comfort could keep such horrible information from me.

‘’damn’’ I breathed as I drove furiously.

On getting to comfort’s apartment, I met only her mother who was extremely relieved to see me.

‘’where is my daughter?’’ she asked, leaving me with great surprise.

‘’what ?, I don’t understand?’’ I stammered.

‘’I have been here for more than thirty minutes. The apartment was open with no one inside. My daughter’s phone is equally switched off. I thought she was with you because she told me last night that she was spending the night with you’’ the old woman queried suspiciously. I drew back and studied her nervously.

‘’I left her this morning. It hasn’t been up to an hour I left her alone’’ I answered, fetched my phone and dialed comfort’s phone number, but just like the old woman said, the phone was switched off.

Story Title: Mr. Lecturer Season 2 Episode 38.

’let’s go home and freshen up. You need to eat and rest. We will be back for the paper work’’ I said softly. She held me strongly as if her life depended on it.

‘’please don’t leave me. I don’t want to be alone’’ she cried..

An hour later, we arrived at her apartment where some concerned neighbors were waiting for our return. Comfort started crying all over again, leaving me with no choice than to try my best in comforting her.. I spent all morning with her, managing to sneak out around 12pm, after convincing her that I will be back in an hour.

‘’please don’t stay away for too long. I cant bear staying alone’’ she begged as I left her apartment..

I really was a shadow of myself when I got home. Tears instantly appeared in Jessica’s eyes as soon as she saw how pitiable I looked.

‘’my love’’ she breathed, hugging me.

‘’I don’t know how I feel right now’’ I confessed with all my heart.

‘’I know my love. I know’’ she breathed solemnly..

An hour later, after freshening up and eating, I got set to head back to comfort’s apartment.

‘’I really don’t know if I will be returning today. I hate to admit that comfort isn’t in the right frame of her mind right now and I promised to be with her’’ I explained slowly to Jessica who i felt really wasn’t pleased with what i just said even though she never showed her feelings..

‘’ how about her mother?’’ she asked

‘’I don’t know if she has told her family about what happened. Supposing her mother was around, perhaps this wouldn’t have happened’’ I answered with a shrug.

‘’should I go with you?, at least to pay my condolence’’ she asked, but I shook my head immediately.

‘’no comfort isn’t with her head at the moment. She wont be happy to see you’’ I answered, clearly avoiding telling her the main reason for my refusal. It was very obvious that comfort felt Jessica was behind it all. A very laughable accusation.

‘’do take care of yourself sweetheart’’ I added sweetly, kissing Jessica before heading out…
