Nicholas Daniel's world premiere performance of Mark-Anthony Turnage's Adieu for cor anglais and orchestra was broadcast on Monday evening on BBC Radio 3 after the Evening Concert.

It was recorded live at BBC Maida Vale Studios in March 2025 with BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Nil Venditti

The Academy of St Thomas will welcome the oboist and conductor Nicholas Daniel for the annual mid-summer concert on June 21.

Mr Daniel, recognised globally for his oboe performances and conducting, will perform Haydn's Oboe Concerto and lead the orchestra in symphonies by Schubert and Beethoven.

A special addition to the programme is "White Interment" by Ukrainian composer Victoria Vita Poleva

Nicholas Daniel is playing oboe and directing Academy of St Thomas on Saturday 21 June in a mid-summer's concert of Schubert, Haydn, Victoria Vita Poleva and Beethoven at beautiful Salle Church in Reepham, near Norwich.

This week on Thursday, Michael Seal, Conductor conducts Münchner Rundfunkorchester in Multiverse Symphony, an interactive concert in which the audience becomes a concert designer with the podcast team, guiding their way through the universes.

Soundtracks will include music from sci-fi films such as Star Wars and Inception, series and games. There will also be the premiere of a work created with AI.

Oboist Nicholas Daniel returns to Music For Galway leading the Britten Oboe Quartet on Tuesday March 11 at 7:30pm, performing an eclectic programme in the beautiful acoustic of St Joseph’s Church, Presentation Road.
