Stopped at the Border with £10m of Drugs – What Happened Next Is Unreal | Arran Harvey's Story

Wrongly accused. Locked up abroad. Let down by the system — twice.

In this Sounds From The Dockside episode, we hear Arran Harvey’s unbelievable true story. In 2022, he was stopped at the Calais border with 101kg of Ketamine and 74kg of Co***ne in his lorry. He had no idea what was in the back.

Thrown into a French jail, interrogated for days, facing 20 years for drug trafficking. He represented himself in court, got acquitted, and made it home. You’d think that was the end of it.

It wasn’t.

💣 A year later, with no warning, he’s back on remand in Wandsworth Prison, told the French police retried him in his absence — found guilty — and sentenced him to five years and a £5 million fine. This episode is a punch to the gut. A story about corruption, survival, resilience, and the true price of injustice. From military service and charity work to being branded a drug smuggler, Arran tells it all.

💥 What’s inside this episode:

🚛 Arrested at the French border with 175kg of drugs
🧠 Locked in a cell, battling PTSD and sleepless nights
⚖️ Represented himself in court – and won
🔁 Re-tried in his absence with no warning – sentenced to 5 years & a £5 million fine
🔒 Remanded in Wandsworth for 14 months
🤯 Fighting to clear his name all over again
🧍‍♂️ A father, a veteran, a man rebuilding his life
🧠 Talking mental health, survival mode, and the system that nearly broke him

✊ This is a story about corruption, betrayal, resilience, and clawing your way back from the brink.

📲 Share it. Talk about it. Let people know what’s really going on.
🙏 And if you’re struggling — you’re not alone. Recovery starts with speaking up.
