90s retro gaming tech. VHS 311
I was rummaging through a damp old box in the loft, the kind full of tangled wires and dead spiders, when I found a dusty VHS with “GamesMaster” scribbled on the side in smudged ink. The plastic felt warped, like it had survived a flood and a fire. I shoved it into the old VCR, and after a few seconds of static and that eerie whine only old tapes make, there it was — a slice of the 90s frozen in time. Chunky consoles, clunky VR headsets, and some bloke in a shiny suit calling it “the future of gaming.” The picture bled neon, the sound warped, but I couldn’t look away. It wasn’t just nostalgia, it was a ghost from the golden age of pixels and plastic dreams.
