The Queen of Memphis Soul, , wrote “Gee Whiz” just before her 18th birthday. The track became a charting success, and she soon became a cornerstone of Stax Records, recording six albums, and one collaboratively with Otis Redding, throughout her career.

Hits like “B-A-B-Y” and “Tramp” (with Otis Redding) prove her charisma remains unmatched, shining through in her songwriting and her enduring love for her hometown.
