1. November marked the return of our lovely Co-owner and Client Services Director, Kat Rodway, after she was away on maternity leave! We’re so pleased to have Kat back, quirky poses and all 🤘

2. Our web development team were busy with a successful site launch for DSW, while our SEO team got to work on optimising their website!

3. We headed down to B2B Marketing Live to hear what leading experts in the B2B Marketing World had to say about the future of the industry. Hint - it’s all about emphasising genuine human connection, something we are always yapping about at FI!

4. We launched our new FI Fives rewards scheme, designed to recognise and celebrate the brilliant things our team members do here every single day!

Last week, our social media executive, Serena, headed down to B2B Marketing Live to scope out the latest B2B marketing insights. After a jam-packed day, it's time to debrief. What are our key B2B Marketing Live 2025 takeaways?

Spoiler: the key is to double down on human-led content.

It’s all about keeping it genuine, authentic, and real!

When it comes to B2B social media marketing, here's one crucial thing to keep in mind: buyers trust people, not brands. In fact, 89% of consumers trust recommendations from people they ‘know’, over traditional advertising, according to data from Statista.

Whilst the appetite for branded content is waning, social media is becoming a new search engine, so B2B social media marketing is still as vital as ever! We just need to find new ways to engage audiences. So what’s the key to building trust and getting your business heard on socials? Employee-generated content (we’ll say it louder for the people at the back) EMPLOYEE-GENERATED CONTENT!

Bonus tip: throw in some employee-focused video content to really boost engagement!

At First Internet, we’ve already predicted that, with the rise of AI content, the key way for businesses to build authenticity and reputability on socials is to sprinkle some employee-focused behind-the-scenes posts into your feed - still on-brand, and still related to the business. 🤳 Instagram is protecting the teens
Instagram has announced new teen accounts for 13-17-year-olds to help them stay safe, limit unwanted DMs and manage their screentime. A solid move - about ten years late, but we’ll take it.

💸 X is launching a new Handles Marketplace
That weird, niche handle you’ve been dreaming about? It might be yours… for a few grand. X Premium users can now buy inactive handles with X’s new Handles Marketplace feature. So-called ‘rare’ handles like could sell for anything from $2,500 to seven figures, according to X - a little pricey if you ask us.

🎥 The Reels takeover is real
Big news for people who hate seeing their colleagues’ holiday posts when they open the app! In early October, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri confirmed that users in India who opt into the test will see Reels as the default home tab, rather than opening the app to view photos. What does this tell us? Instagram, much like many other major platforms, is pushing video content in a bid to compete with TikTok. If your brand *still* isn’t making social video content, what are you doing? (Call us, obviously 😉)

📍 Pinterest is giving you more control over AI content
Sick of mutant AI cats on your feed? Pinterest heard you. They’re letting users limit AI-generated content on their feeds - proof that people still crave authentic, relatable content over cold, uncanny visuals (sorry AI cats).

📈 Instagram lets you spy (legally)
Big news for social media managers (and for all the nosey people out there). Instagram’s Competitive Insights tool gives professional users a sneak peek at how up to 10 competitors are performing - with intel on individual post data and engagements, even when their like count is hidden.

Our takeaway:
While some platforms are going all-in on AI, we’re doubling down on real faces, real stories, and real connections. Ditch the generic, AI-written fluff (we can spot a ChatGPT caption a mile away). Instead, invest in human-focused video content as the ultimate way to build trust and spark genuine connections with your viewers.

It’s officially the penultimate month of 2025. Where did all that time go?! That being said, it’s time to take a look back at what our team has been up to in October, apart from scaring each other with Paddy’s Michael Myers mask, of course.

1. A very exciting meeting at ’s head office working on a secret project (all will be revealed soon) 👀

2. Our website development team pushed a new website live for Roberts Garages. We had so much fun building the new site!

3. The FI office underwent a spooky makeover as soon as it hit October, thanks to our co-owner Julaine’s chaotic B&M shopping spree.

4. We had great fun at our latest team photography day. We thought we’d give a little nod to FI’s 1990s roots, so we went a little crazy with the Polaroid camera 📸

5. What better way to celebrate our co-owner Scott’s 10th year at First Internet than our very own sandwich competition? These tasty treats paid homage to Scott’s infamous interview question: “If you could make any sandwich right now, what would you make? Talk us through the process.”

With inconsistent fonts and colours, its feed was cluttered and it wasn’t effectively communicating SV’s reputable image.
