Radio Calderdale Official Radio Station for Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax. We also broadcast all home matches live from the Shay. and occasionally School Fayres.

Radio Calderdale is a radio station broadcasting from within Calderdale Royal Hospital run by a team of dedicated volunteers. The station has become a popular bedside 'companion' to those recovering in hospital since starting over 30 years ago, with an array of characters running the show. We have a wide range of shows and programmes broadcasting throughout the week, including ones where we visit

patients on wards and play their personal requests. If you or someone you know are staying in hospital and want to listen to us - we are on CHANNEL 10 on your beside set. If you want to request a song for someone, call or email us. Sometimes we aren't always in the studio though. We also broadcast from theatre productions, events around Calderdale (Galas, Openings etc.) If you're interested in joining our team of volunteers dedicated to making patients at the hospital feel better, then call us on 01422 224698, email us at [email protected] or even write to us on Facebook. We're a fun, friendly team and aim to get the best out of our experience here at the hospital and welcome anybody within an interest to get involved! We look forward from hearing from you!

On Saturday 18th October at the Greetland Community Centre Firestar Championship Wrestling will be Wrestling for Riley. This will be a fundraising show and all proceeds will be going directly to Riley's Fundraising Story . This show will be a £5.00 pr head minimum donation per entry and we can guarantee you 6 top matches including a intergender triple threat, your favourites Matty Mayhem - Professional Wrestler, Nicky Starr and KT Gold "The Gold Collector" will be in action, and you can also get photos with our talent in the ring during the interval. This show will start at 6.30pm promptly and we also have an amazing prize draw for a week away in a caravan park in Skegness, not to mention an amazing prize raffle with loads of prizes for grabs...

This Sunday, 4 of our fantastic presenters will be taking part in the Big Hospital Walk!

They will be raising money for Radio Calderdale, to help us keep delivering fantastic entertainment for the patients of the Calderdale Royal Hospital and those beyond.

It would be very much appreciated if you could donate and spur them on for the walk!

We will be broadcasting whilst the walk is happening, hopefully checking in with our walkers and people they meet along the way.

We're participating in CHFT NHS Charity's The Big Hospital Walk on 6th July 2025.

Members and non-members will be taking part, walking the 10km route from Huddersfield Hospital to Calderdale Royal Hospital.

All money raised through sponsorship of Radio Calderdale walkers will go directly into the running of Radio Calderdale.

Rachel Fisher-Ives will host a special edition of Mainly 80s, Mainly 40s!

This is for one week only, so get in touch with your requests and memories (your own or family stories welcome).

Our fantastic Ian, presenter of From Inside the Horsebox, is celebrating a big birthday today!

In celebration, Ian will be bringing us a birthday special of From Inside the Horsebox tomorrow, only on Radio Calderdale.

This one off edition will feature Ian's birthday number ones, from 1975 onwards, and lots of other treats!
