We are a fundraising market that raises funds for charities/local good causes, supports fundraisers with free stalls and tearoom takeovers and provides an affordable selling outlet for local/small businesses. As we approach our 10th birthday we thought we would do something new and this weekend we are hosting a community event supported by 13 Barlaston venues and Barlaston Parish Council .... an art trail. There will be 25 artists to visit to view a wide range of art mediums as well as 2 market sites, food trucks and pop-up tearooms. The event is free to enter so just turn up, collect a programne and enjoy; art trail programmes can be collected from Barlaston Village Hall and Wedgwood Cricket Club.

🖤 A fitting tribute to OZZY from Rob Wheeler 💔

Back in November 2020 as the world was going thru some weird changes - I recorded Black Sabbath “Changes”.. I feel very privileged to share publishers with Sabbath; Bucks Music, and I asked my A&R JT if I could record this song which I love so much.. today it has taken on a whole new meaning for me - no one can come close to Ozzy in the original - but this is my tribute to the great front man of heavy metal; with one of the bands most tender and fragile songs…

An 1890’s local doctor’s house and surgery .
Poor housing , sanitation , diet and working conditions were common . Childhood diseases were killers and in Longton one third of children died before the age of 5 years . In a working class practice most patients became members of a “ club” in order to pay the doctor .

Our Lady and St Peter in Chains RC Church , Hartshill Road close to the junction with Shelton Old Road .
The church , built in 1857 was founded as a church with an adjoining priory of Dominican nuns and is a Grade II listed building .

Westport Lake .
The visitor centre in the distance was designed to be eco friendly . It has solar panels , straw bale internal walls which are cool in summer and warm in winter and a living roof of tiny plants to provide a habitat for birds and insects.
