The Seekers are an Australian folk-pop group formed in Melbourne in 1962, best known for their rich vocal harmonies and uplifting melodies. The original lineup featured Judith Durham (lead vocals), Athol Guy (double bass), Keith Potger (twelve-string guitar), and Bruce Woodley (guitar). Great show! All this week on Big Ear Radio

Help us establish a new Radio Station, focussed on disability and family.

You often read that overnight success may take 10 years to happen, well it’s certainly true that everything takes time and you can’t rush results. But, having said that, after just a few months test broadcasts for Equal Ability Radio (Big Ear) have already attracted interest in well over 60 countries - not bad at all! We have three presenters providing 3 shows - Folk, Soul and, something more specialised, great advice on developing creative writing skills, finishing that book and getting published. So, we are making really positive progress... More programs are on their way and already occasionally airing...

The most frustrating aspect of launching a new specialist venture, such as Big Ear Radio, is probably the politics of raising funds. So often we don’t qualify for any community support or we are in the wrong area at the wrong time. I guess that’s the challenge - to overcome all the obstacles and make it happen anyway - and we will.

However, we are always looking for help to run things, volunteers at first, but we hope to employ people as part of our “Not for Profit Company” as soon as that’s viable. Check our website for what and who we need and do get in touch if you’d like to help. With 13.5 million potential listeners with disabilities, this is an important and exciting enterprise full of rewards.

Big Ear Radio aims to be the best communication platform for disability in the UK. Uniting, encouraging and helping listeners recognise, develop and offer their talents that may otherwise go unnoticed - right around the World.
