We previously asked you for input into our Local Heritage List Criteria - now we want to hear from you about what you think should be included on the Local Heritage List.

The List helps our communities and the local planning authority to identify heritage assets (for example, buildings, monuments, sites and landscapes) that are much loved and a distinctive part of our local historic environment.

It provides a comprehensive list of the location of assets and what is significant about them. This could be a building, structure, monument, gardens, etc.

All nominations we receive will be assessed by heritage experts against the criteria which we previously consulted on.

Go to: https://orlo.uk/cTN7H to add any new suggestions. You won’t need to nominate buildings that are already on the list.

The current list of heritage assets can be found here: https://orlo.uk/goB4l

Nominations close 21st December 2023.

The results of the criteria consultation can be found here:

This wasn't about politics which is essentially the right to choose who represents you this was about bullying and intimidation. I, like Marion, was shocked at the arrival of two of my existing councillors who appeared from nowhere and confronted us without question about what had occurred. They had not been there, yet we, their residents, had. Yet our opinion didn't seem to matter to them. Over 8 minutes of interrogation and threats to report us ended in Councillor Martin Goode asking Dan Lammin about his interest in golf. His change of attitude and tone towards the other man present was completely different to that of the aggression aimed at me and Marion. One can only assume this was because we were women, especially as Councillor Goode had bothered to learn my colleague Dan's name but only referred to me as 'Meer'. In a climate where misogyny in politics is a key topic, I found this hugely disappointing and I too would not canvass alone now. If this was their intention then it worked. If this is how they choose to win then this is a sad day for us all.
