In a few hours 2025 is over. Your favourite mustard maker has had quite a few highlights and, as always when I look back, I am overwhelmed by the phenomenal support I have received also this year from you, my lovely Musthebbies.
Here is my little 2025 journey: The year began with me being named one of 100 most inspirational female entrepreneurs 2025 across the UK, one of five in Scotland and the first in Harris. An accolade I am truly proud of. In February, BBC Naidheachdan was here, in March the big container moved into the Glen, in April I met the extremely charming James Martin and he cooked with my mustard. In May, I finally got to meet inspirational Kate from Produced-near-by in person. In June, you could read about the mustard in the Herald. In August, I met Alice Biggins, Deputy Director for Food and Drink at The Scottish Government and Iain, CEO of Scotland Food & Drink. In September, the wonderful Hebridean Baker. Since October, I have been approved as a Slow Food supporter. In November, Mustheb was shortlisted for the Outer Hebrides Tourism Awards, and in December, I was interviewed by culinary connoisseur and World Food Traveller Eric Wolf. Just to highlight a few things.
And then I met you, in person at the Mustard Shack and the Mustard Tasting Tent as well, as online. Thank you for another year of your interest, your visits, your purchases, your support and community.
For me, a great year is coming to an end, one that also brought some extreme challenges, but in retrospect and looking back on all the wonderful experiences, they fade into the background. And I am just grateful!
And in the end, it is always the encounters with people that enrich my life.
With this in mind, for 2026, I wish us all enriching encounters, with old and familiar things, but especially with new and unknown ones. Let us continue to be curious about what the New Year has in store for us.
Farewell 2025 and Welcome 2026
