Reading Between The Vines will be exploring the culinary world with our next book.
Stanley Tucci's Taste is a memoir of his life growing up in New York and his passion for food.
Within the book are recipes and cocktails which would be a great idea to try whilst reading!
We'd love to hear what you cooked or drank at our next meet on Wednesday 15th July, upstairs at Barnaby's from 6pm.

Tonight we reviewed James by Percival Everett and it was given unanimous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars out of a possible 5! It was an enjoyable read despite of some of the subject matter. Some of us found the vernacular of James at the beginning of the book a little challenging but the author's descriptive writing of characters and places made this book worthy of recommendation.
It may well have earned 5 stars if the ending had not felt a little rushed, or maybe we enjoying it too much to stop reading? 😄
Tomorrow you can find out what our next read will be to sink your teeth into 😉😋 so please pop by!

This month we will be reading James by Percival Everett. This is the classic novel of Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn but retold through the eyes of Jim, the fugitive slave, rather than the main character.
If some of you have read the original tale it might be interesting to see the differences in writing styles and character development etc.
Join us on Wednesday 17th June, from 6pm upstairs at Barnaby's, and tell us what you thought!

On Wednesday I popped down to project ADDER, a support service tackling drug use and dependency in our area. It was lovely to chat to a few clients and I'll be looking out for a few author requests to bring down next time.

Our next read will be a self choice book to coincide with this year's World Laughter Day on 3rd May and National Limerick Day on May 12th.
Choose a book written by a comedian who is first known for their comedy, either stand up or comedic sketches.
This will an interesting look at whether their humerous talent follows through in their writing.
Your book can be any genre - many have written memoirs along side works of fiction etc.
I have produced a helpful guide, if you're stuck, but obviously more funny people are available!
We meet again on Wednesday 20th May to see how amused we were!
