Yesterday's lightning storm was very atmospheric. It felt almost godly, like Zeus or Odin were fighting in the sky.

I wish I had my camera out on the beach to take some higher quality stills. It would look so spectacular to capture the blue, yellow and red lightning strikes.

Fun fact: Knights often fought each other for the right to Pillage after a battle or before a seige. At D9ver Castle, they are fighting for the honour of being titled 'English Heritage Champion' 2022.

There were three main types of soldiers during the Middle Ages: foot soldiers, archers, and knights. The knights were heavily armored soldiers who rode on horseback. Only the wealthiest nobles could afford to be a knight. They needed very expensive armor, weapons, and a powerful war horse.

This bank holiday weekend, I went to visit one of my favourite medieval castles, Dover Castle. Situated along the Kent coastline, this fortification was reconditioned in the 11th century by Henry II to impress and defend his lands from invaders

Since then, its been besieged multiple times as been described as the "Key to England" due to its defensive significance throughout history.

Looking at last week's photos from France. I forgot how much I missed travelling. Can't wait to do it all again.

Day 1 of our trip around Normandy, France. We all thought we were going to be late for docking, so we quickly cycled through Dover and straight to the harbour. When we got there, we'd been told our Ferry was delayed by two hours.

I did find time to take a few nice pictures, this being one of them 😀❤️
