Happy Father's Day to the man who said, "If it's what you want, go for it" and accidentally enabled me all the way to two cats and a dachshund....

Somewhere along the way, you accepted that furry children were your future (still working on the ducks ...)

Now you're the one up first making breakfasts, buying treats, carrying pets around the house like royalty and, as I write this, grating carrots for Albie because he likes them and you want to spoil him

Harper, Dani and Albs absolutely adore you, and watching how much you love them is one of my favourite things.

Thank you for everything you do for our little family..

My notes app is just a collection of thoughts I definitely didn’t need to type out, but here we are. If yours looks anything like this, I feel like we should probably start a support group.( Forever grateful for my friends who receive my voice notes not disowning me 🤣)

Also genuinely curious what’s the most unhinged thing in your notes app right now? I feel like I can’t be the only one writing things like “how much matcha would it take to become Elphaba” at completely normal times of day.

Things I do to get my sparkle back ✨

Not every reset needs to involve booking a trip or doing something exciting, sometimes it's just packing the car, grabbing a book, picking up too many snacks and heading somewhere different for the afternoon.

Yesterday that happened to be an airfield. We spent a few hours reading, watching little planes come and go, waving at pilots and letting Albie investigate every smell known to mankind.

Nothing groundbreaking happened. Nobody climbed a mountain. We didn't tick anything off a bucket list.

But for a few hours there was nowhere we needed to be and nothing we needed to do, and that felt pretty perfect.

It's funny how often the smallest days end up being the ones you remember most.

What's something small that always helps you get your sparkle back?

Golden hour, a quiet walk, and a little bit of training with my favourite sidekick, starting the day together

Training has always been one of the best ways for us to bond, and having treats he genuinely loves definitely helps. If you know Albie, you'll know he's pretty particular about his snacks, but .dog are always a winner and the perfect size to keep in my pocket on walks.

Mostly though, these photos are a reminder that some of the best memories are made in the simplest moments. ❤️

I think you might have been my happiest month so far this year.. Dear May,

It's been a busy one, filled with cat sittings, Goodwoof, Dogstival, plenty of adventures in between, and lots of time spent with my head down working away on various bits and bobs.

We've cooked so many lovely meals, started our own veggie and cut flower patch, and had the chance to catch up with so many wonderful people. Looking back through these photos, I'm reminded how much joy there has been and how much more 'me' I feel with the help of my beautiful friends.

Not every month needs to be life-changing, but this one felt full in all the right ways. Full of fresh air, good conversations, wagging tails, not my wellies for once, growing things, and a big dose of self care.

A month I'll be very happy to remember 🤍
