If you know of anyone in our Pembrokeshire who could benefit from a FREE Christmas Dinner then please get in touch

🩷 FREE, yes FREE Christmas Dinners 🩷

Once again our FREE Christmas Dinners are back for 2025 🩷

Yep, for the TENTH year running we are again offering FREE Christmas Dinners to those in need as a way of giving back to our community.

Keeping with a tradition we started (my husband Billy & l) back in 2015 or in which we gave away a full traditional Christmas dinner or two for someone in need, someone homeless, someone possibly struggling with the cost of living, someone living on their own who may not want to cook, or were just too unwell or frail to cook for themselves. Through the years we have also provided for caregivers and key workers on Christmas Day/Boxing Day as they just haven't had the time.

As mentioned we started off in 2015 or 2016 offering one dinner and it just seemed to increase year after year. 2022 saw us cook and deliver twelve Christmas dinners throughout the Pembrokeshire community, including a woman's refuge, and to a Doctor & nurse on the Christmas Day late shift. And last year 2024 saw us cook & deliver over 100 Christmas Dinners all over Pembrokeshire (and with a little bit of last minute help from The Bearded Chefs, we even supplied meals for two homeless hostels)

They say "charity begins at home", hence from our home to your home we will be giving away more FREE traditional Christmas dinners with all the trimmings & a pudding. However due to the increased workload for Team Helping Hands there will only be a limited amount of dinners available this year.

So, if you know of anyone in Pembrokeshire who could benefit from a FREE dinner on Christmas Day for whatever reason please get in touch. But once their gone they are gone.

Drop me an email or please call us, on or before December 22nd to book your FREE Christmas Dinner
We aim to deliver the meals on 23rd December, 24th December (Christmas Eve) & even Christmas Day morning.

(I am fully insured and we both hold our Food Hygiene Certificates) and if any of you know my better half Billy, you will know he's king of the kitchen.

Feel free to share this post so that it gets the attention of people who may know someone who could benefit from a free hot meal for any reason (as we know some of the homeless possibly won't have access to social media etc).

(Unfortunately we are not able to cater for everyone's dietary needs, but we will try our best).

Happy Christmas x

πŸŽ…πŸ— These Dinners are totally FREE and not for profit πŸŽ…πŸŽ„

🩷 Charity Calendar in Aid of Barry Jones 🩷

As a business we are known for always finding was to give back to those in our COMMUNITY and this year has been no exception, hence we are proud to reveal that Team Helping Hands & friends are getting our kit off 🩷😁 and all for a great cause.

This one has been a few months in the process, but after talks with Barry's amazing wife Holly to see how we could help fundraise for the couples cause, we are getting together with a few of our caring friends to showcase our first Charity Calendar in aid of Barry Jones & Family and their Fight Against Motor Neurone Disease (ALS)

🩷 On November 13, 2024, the couples world was turned upside down. When Barry, just 45 years old, was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (ALS) and given a life expectancy of two years. This devastating news has shaken their family, including their children, the youngest of whom is only 9 years old.

Barry is the heart of his family-a hardworking pipe fitter who has always provided for them. But ALS has forced him to give up his job, leaving him feeling helpless and heartbroken. The symptoms began a few months ago with restless leg syndrome, then progressed to leg weakness, hand tremors, and falls that became impossible to ignore. After an EMG and consultations with a neurologist, the diagnosis was confirmed.

Barry has been prescribed Riluzole, but as we all know, there is no cure for ALS. Despite this, we are determined to fight for every extra day we can get with him. We are researching clinical trials, treatments, and disability aids to make his life as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.

Barry has always been a hands-on dad, devoted to his family, and he feels terrible about not being able to support them in the way he used to. It's incredibly hard for him to ask for help, but now the family, their friends and Team Helping Hands are now reaching out because Barry & Holly an't face this journey alone.

Through their GoFundMe page and upcoming Fundraiser and hopefully our Calendar sales they are raising funds to:

Explore clinical trials and treatments to prolong Barry's life.

Purchase vital disability aids to help him maintain his independence and dignity.

Provide for his family during this difficult time, as Barry can no longer work.

This diagnosis has been a devastating blow for Holly & Barry, but they like us are inspired by stories like Rob Burrow's, which reminds us of the power of COMMUNITY and hope. If you can support us by purchasing a copy of our Charity Calendar when they go on sale shortly or by sharing their story, it would mean the world to them and their family 🩷

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this fight with us. We will be completing our photo shoots with the wonderful Nigel J Bevans Photography soon, so please watch this space for details of where you will be able to purchase your copy of our Charity Calendar for this well worthy cause.

Every single penny raised will goes directly to Holly & Barry, and will help them in making a real difference in their fight against motor neurone disease 🩷

We can make a difference!
We are COMMUNITY.
We are Helping Hands.

❀️ It's good to be drawing again, or should that be it's good to be ENJOYING drawing again, and it's all down to you 'MY CUSTOMERS".

Over the last couple of years most of you know l have struggled with both my Mental & Physical Health and most of you have followed me on that journey and could see l had fallen out of love with my artwork.

So l fell back on my love of music as an escape, it was then that l had a commission to draw one of my all time favourite bands, the almighty Shed Seven, it was then through drawing artworks of bands whose music had got me through both the highs & lows of life that my passion for drawing was reignited and opened the doors a new lease of life for my talents.

In the last 12 months my love of both art & music has opened new doors and helped me meet new friends, and strangers who have shown me support & kindness in ways l never thought possible.

Having walked away from a toxic environment only a few months ago l am now trying to make a living through my art and charity work.

So please feel free to book a commission for a personalised caricature or purchase one of my A3 signed prints of various musical artists to help raise funds for Dementia UK and more.

Here are some of the commissions placed by customers over the last year or so πŸ˜†

🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Now it's the 'TURN' of TRAVIS...

Back in 1999 just as l was getting ready to leave the Armed Forces and thinking about transitioning back into civilian life Travis hit the charts with "Writing To Reach You" and l was automatically hooked on their sound and lyrics.
Then "Driftwood' was released shortly after and soon became the soundtrack of my life at the time as l had now left the military and just seemed to be 'drifting' from one thing to the next, and l honestly felt lost.
Their music has been a staple of my life ever since, and they remain one of my favorite bands to this day 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So it's only fitting that l get to draw TRAVIS in my own style and add them to my artwork collection of bands that have inspired me or whose music has seen me through the tough times.

Being a fellow Scot, it was nice to draw a Scottish band for once, and I was lucky enough to be in contact with the one and only Andy Dunlop who was instrumental in helping me get Fran, Dougie, Neil & himself to sign my original drawing even before it was fully finished. The guys were happy to sign the artwork just after their soundcheck at the Bristol Beacon on 15th December last year.

The artwork is now completed, and the first four Limited Edition numbered prints are on their way to the band.

If you're interested in purchasing a limited edition print then please get in touch. Prints are taken direct from the signed original, and you will be helping raise funds for the outstanding Dementia UK 🩡🩷

You can check out my other artworks of Shed Seven, Dodgy, & The Lottery Winners on the relevant Facebook fan pages You can also find my artwork print of Dodgy on the bands official merchandise store.

Here's wishing all my customers past, present & future a very Happy Christmas.
Thank you for your support & patience throughout 2024, which has been the most challenging year for me health wise, both physically & mentally which meant putting my art on the back burner for a while (sorry to those whose orders got delayed).

Slowly life is getting back to some sort of normality, let's hope next year will be better than the last.

Have a great day everyone, and remember the no.1 Christmas rule here at FaceValue....

πŸ’š Something's DODGY...

If like me you grew up with the sounds of "Staying Out for the Summer" & "Grass man" bellowing from your speakers then my recent artwork of the amazing Dodgy could be "Good Enough" for you.

I absolutely loved designing this artwork of one of the bands whose music got me through a few tough years. Having reached out to the band, l was lucky enough to end up a guest of theirs at their recent December 2024 gig in Newport, where the band happily signed my original artwork and l was able to present each of them with a limited edition print.

If you're interested in purchasing a print then please get in touch. All prints are A3 in size, printed on high quality matt card, back boarded & fully sealed, and are Β£26 posted via 48hr tracked.

Music is definitely one of the best coping mechanisms when it comes to self help with Mental Health. For me, its especially the music l grew up. First up were a band that l have followed for 30 years, the amazing Shed Seven.
It was great to work on my confidence building whilst producing this artwork and have the tunes of the Sheds blasting out.
It was also great boost to my confidence and a test of my social anxiety when l got to meet the band back at the start of October and get the original artwork signed in, whilst being able to present them all with a copy of the limited prints.
A3 PRINTS ARE £26 EACH including Postage (part of the proceeds are donated to Dementia UK) 🩡🩷

Please message me for details.

πŸ˜€ NOTICE... (Life is a little more on track)

As many of you know over the last year or so l have been dealing with a few physical health issues that seemed to come at me thick & fast one after the other. On top of that l have had a horrendous year dealing with my mental health also, l won't lie it's been s**t!!! and just l fely l was getting on top of things, life threw me a curveball about three or four months ago and my head and thoughts took a really dark downward spiral that l am still dealing with.
Every day the horizon changes and the mental goalposts move.
But l have some fantastic support in place and through music and art l am getting to where l need to be 🀣

My health issues have meant that l have been lacking in ability and motivation, and sadly my customer orders went into a backlog. But now with only 4 or 5 Personal Caricatures to complete the pressure is almost off and NEW orders will be taken in the New Year ❀️ (NB: l will be limiting the amount of orders l take next year. They will be extremely low compared to previous years)

Over the last few months l have been building my confidence back up in my own artistic abilities by revisiting my drawing techniques and experimenting with new colours & products.
For this my subject matter was the bands whose music over the years had dragged my head out of those dark places and seen me function normally.
For me those bands have been Counting Crows, Shed Seven, Travis, Dodgy, Matchbox 20 and most recently The Lottery Winners.
As a bonus l have even got to meet a few of the bands and her the originals signed.
It's been great to work on these little vibrant and meaningful projects, that brought me back to a happy place 🀣

Good things come out of bad situations, by producing these prints l have been able to raise some much needed funds for Dementia UK

Polite Notice..an Apology x

As many of you know, l pride myself on the work l produce, and the reputation l have for communicating with my customers throughout their artwork order process.
My reviews speak for themselves πŸ˜€
However the last 12 months or more have been horrendous health wise. What started with a little anxiety over a sprained thumb, ended up with a total relapse of my mental health and my PTSD raising it's ugly head and making my every living minute a waking hell.
Then when out clearing my head, it was a little stumble that knackered my knuckle and took bloody ages to heal. Then as l am working thru the back log of orders caused by my health, and getting on really well ( l think l am only 5 orders to complete and l am done) l was hit with a heart scare last week and told to rest.
Then three days later l now have a serious infection in my right hand/wrist. This was the exact same hand they took bloods from last week, hence l feel they are connected. Stuck with a hand/wrist that is swollen to the size of a small water melon has me on forced rest and a course of antibiotics to see how the infection fares.

Sadly this will knock me back even more with my backlog and current customer orders. For this l must apologise and hope that my customers will continue to stick by me as l battle with my ongoing health issues. Your orders are all priority to me and will be with you as soon as l can start to hold a pen/pencil again.

Thank you for understanding and l am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused

Kind regards

Bill πŸ˜₯
