No more skyQ or sky dishes!

sky have now made the official public announcement.
New sky customers are no longer able to order skyQ with a dish, via the website. Only via sky shops or over the phone.
We've known for a while that sky have not renewed their satellite broadcast licence past 2028 and plan to move to fully online services in the next couple of years

Viewers already using skyQ and skyHD will continue for the foreseeable future, but will be 'encouraged' to move to sky-Stream as soon as possible...

Dropped our loan Starlink unit to a customer today for a 30day demo.
We don't often do this, but this customer has a very unreliable copper broadband service and is currently needing WiFi calling for medical calls. Over 250MBps in heavy rain, with trees surrounding the property... Not bad😉
Reliability of Starlink is easily proved, compared to this landline!

The Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) caused by severe Solar Flares may interfere with all sorts of communication for a couple of days this week.

Some mobile phone networks. Satellite TV, GPS and satellite broadband.
This can also often affect power distribution, leaving some areas with intermittent power cuts.

Fibre splicing in the rain! - Starlink installs - Fibreglass dishes with Pony works assessor 🤣

Nice quick job this morning for a repeat customer.
Splicing and switching a network feed over from Copper Cat6 cable, to Optical fibre between two buildings.

The cable run was well over 100mtrs, which had a dramatic affect on data speeds.
This has increased the bandwidth from around 300MBps to over 600MBps. 👍⚡️
