Lounge to ‘live lounge…’ I now understand what he meant when he said it would be a great flexible space! 😜
Practise is now underway for ‘An evening of Saxophone and Clarinet’ with Andy Schofield and special guest Geoff Ross.
In partnership with this is going to be a great evening.

Getting into the studio and feeling gooooood!
Lots to start catching up on with new plans and events emerging - please keep an eye on our pages!

Working on new sets and sounds, loving the new SYOS (Shape Your Own Sound) sax mouthpiece (as used by 😜🎷) and thrilled to be teaming up with for an evening of sax, clarinet and food!! Date for your Diary, Friday 4th July - details of tickets to follow.

HELLO….. 👁️ it’s us..
Hello, from the otherside..
Hello, it’s been a while… !! 🎙️
No sooner had we got the DB Studio at Helensfield up and running, we moved… 🏡 😜 🤯
We are now very settled in the beautiful Scottish Borders, just outside Hawick, and we felt it was time to kick off the ‘music’ 1/3rd of DB again 🎷 🥁 🎶
A huge amount of hard work, sweat, tears 😭, beer and gin went in to converting an old damp stable block into a fabulous music recording and production studio! As well as just a great place to hang out!
‘Andy sax’s’ morning mantra very quickly became “well it’s not going to do itself…!” But he did! 🌟
After 3 solid self build diy months in crazy rain and Borders wind (with ‘A Little Help from (our) Friends’ - 🙏 James and Rob!!) we now have an amazing space that offers a beautifully quiet and relaxing place for musical inspiration and creativity!
Deliberately keeping this first ‘restart’ post short so just a few pics of the ‘before and after’ but we promise to keep you all up to date with what’s ahead!

The smiles say it all! Coming into a studio to record doesn’t just have to be for the here, now and tomorrow. It doesn’t have to be for the masses or even the few. It can be just for you! One person.
James is the 3rd musician in as many weeks to arrive with old songs, tunes and lyrics from 30 odd years ago and just wanted the joy of putting them together, remixing and enjoying the experience of playing around with his sound and his ideas. We know he went away happy and with some sounds in his pocket that he may, or may not share, in years to come.
Come and immerse yourself in yourself for a day or two - music for the soul - even if it’s just yours. Result!
