November recap 🍂
(a little late because it’s been so busy!)

November absolutely flew by here at The Happy Learning Hub, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! 💛

I was incredibly busy supporting more than 15 families and over 20 brilliant children, with an amazing 85 lessons taught throughout the month.

It’s been full of learning, growth, smiles, and lots of hard work behind the scenes. I'm so grateful to all our families for trusting me to be part of your children’s learning journey.

Here’s to many more busy (and happy!) months ahead 📚✨

The recorder:

🎶 “The instrument that launched a thousand headaches.” 🎶

We ALL remember those squeaky first notes.

But behind the jokes is something far more important: the recorder brought joy, community, music, laughter, confidence… and the simple pleasure of learning something new just for the love of doing it.

At The Happy Learning Hub, these elements matter. They’re the ingredients that make learning exciting and meaningful and they’re often missing in primary classrooms today.

So I for one remember the recorder and the music for the:

✨ Joy
✨ Connection
✨ Creativity

Because when learning feels like that, children thrive.

And I'll be off to see Wicked: For Good ASAP! Anyone else?

It’s been a brilliantly busy week here at The Happy Learning Hub! 📚✨

I’ve had the pleasure of working with children from Year 1 right through to Year 8, supporting little ones who are just beginning their school journey, children preparing for SATs, home-educated learners, school-attending children, and those learning online and face to face.

This week alone, I’ve welcomed four new learners! We’ve covered phonics, spelling, 11+ preparation, maths, reading, and writing. Some learners are brand new faces, while others are families or children I’ve had the pleasure of teaching before. ❤️

Every session is totally different because every child is different. Learning should be just as unique as they are. 🌟

My experience teaching across a wide range of year groups means I have a thorough understanding of the curriculum and how learning progresses from early primary up into the later years. This helps me support each child at exactly the right level, whether they’re taking their first steps into reading or preparing for exams.

Feeling grateful for the trust families place in me, and excited for another week of learning, growth, and smiles! 💛

✨ The Happy Home-Ed Hub is back tomorrow! ✨

I'm excited to welcome you all tomorrow from 10:00–11:30am at Stondon Community Centre for a morning of discovery, creativity, and connection, all with a theme of Light! 💡☀️🕯️

Sessions are open to school-aged children and their accompanying adults, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

🌟 First session is FREE!
After that, it’s just £8 per child and £2 per sibling.

🎉 The Happy Learning Hub Turns ONE! 🎉

Although I’ve been a teacher and tutor for many years, it suddenly hit me that this October marks the official one-year anniversary of The Happy Learning Hub! 🌈

What a year it’s been - a year of learning, growth, meeting amazing families, and seeing so many children gain confidence and love their learning. 💡

I feel so incredibly lucky to be doing a job I truly love. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey - to the families I work with, to those who’ve shared kind words, recommended me, or simply cheered The Happy Learning Hub along the way. Your support means so much. 🌍

Here’s to another year of curiosity, confidence and happy learning! 🥳

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for coming along to this morning’s first Happy Home-Ed Hub session. We had a brilliant turnout with 10 children (aged 4–13) and their adults joining in.

From the chats I had and the feedback shared, it’s clear that the open-ended activities worked really well — the outdoor space, creative tasks, Lego building and time to socialise were all especially popular. I’ll definitely be building on those in future sessions.

We also had some exciting suggestions about creating podcasts and films, which I think could be a fantastic way to explore ideas together. Many people also mentioned that this group felt a little more “grown up” than other groups they have attended which might be helpful to those considering if they attend.

I’m also excited to say that we now have a volunteer to teach chess, so I’ll finally get the chance to learn too!

To help keep the calm and welcoming atmosphere that worked so well today, I’ll be keeping sessions on the smaller side. It was lovely to see families coming from very local areas such at Stondon and Clifton as well as a little further afield. Thanks again for making our first session such a positive one — I’m already looking forward to the next!
