"Best of British" Show at Shuttleworth, 30th August 2025

Cadets from Henlow joined others from across Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire Wing ATC to support this exciting show at Shuttleworth. Situated alongside the University Air Squadron, the cadets represented themselves and the Air Cadet organisation professionally. Assisting various stalls, from a gliding simulator to mini pedal aircraft for youngsters, our cadets proved hugely useful to the organisers at .
More importantly, two of our Cadets, Gibson and Cree were on the scene when their First Aid skills were called into action to manage a casualty suffering from an asthma attack. They provided calming support to the member of the public whilst an inhaler was retrieved. We are extremely proud of their efforts in supporting a positive outcome. ☺️

Tuesday 26th August

This evening was a little more relaxed, but some valuable lessons were built into the activities 👩🏽‍🎓
Effective communication, following instructions, teamwork and leadership were all elements included in tonight’s exercise.
Led by Sgt Gibson, our cadets learnt how important accurate and clear instructions are when one of your senses is no longer available to you!

Sunday 17th August

Another invitation from our local community. Shefford Town Council invited us to assist with their VJ Day celebrations. Cadets greeted visitors on entry to the event and provided general assistance where required.

Representing the Air Cadets at these events is hugely valuable in raising our profile in the community and is always well received. It opens opportunities for future collaboration and potential charity fund raising.
