What is happening in Lugari today is not leadership β it is oppression dressed in authority. Two months ago, a headteacher was slapped by the area MP in front of colleagues. Last week, a principal was found dead. Today, teachers wake up in fear, wondering who will be next. When a Member of Parliament becomes a source of fear instead of protection, then democracy has lost its meaning.
We cannot keep quiet as our educators are harassed, threatened, and humiliated. Female teachers are being objectified β told to βbefriendβ the MP if they want timely access to CDF funds. This rot has forced even his own wife to flee from a toxic environment. Is this the leadership Lugari deserves? Are women now supposed to trade their dignity for development? This is not service β itβs slavery in the 21st century.
As KNUT, we are drawing the line. We demand immediate intervention from the Ministry of Education, DCI, and the Presidency. Teachers are not punching bags or political ornaments. We will defend every educator in Lugari and beyond. Let it be known: we shall not kneel before bullies in suits. If intimidation, corruption, and abuse of power are the MPβs tools of governance, then the people of Lugari must rise and reclaim their dignity.
