For two decades, via The Writing Hall, I've helped many people publish their stories.

Last weekend, a chapter of my own real-life story appeared in a collaborative work: UNRULED.

On launch day, we hit the Bestseller spot...and a week later, we're still at No. 1.

So, I am, with my UNRULED buddies, a best-selling author. I don't really count myself as being on that side of the literary fence; I'm an editor, and my skills are better used shaping other people's words.

But it's a lovely feeling nonetheless. 😊

If something is poorly written, disengaging, or lacks substance, it won’t be read, regardless of how it was produced. If something is thoughtful, compelling, or entertaining, people will find it.

Whether AI played a role in shaping it becomes far less important than the experience of reading it. The content speaks.

Good self-published work found its audience. Poor work didn’t. Readers, as it turns out, are quite capable of deciding what’s worth their time. I don’t see AI as fundamentally different in that respect.
