Staffordshire furniture maker Taylor’s Classics has brought its craftsmanship to Jeremy Clarkson and Lisa Hogan’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

What began with a handwritten letter turned into a national collaboration, with the Clarkson’s Farm team visiting Taylor’s workshop before choosing them as a key furniture supplier. From Audley Armchairs to Rustic Gothic tables, every piece balances durability with character, perfectly suited to the pub’s rural charm.

Surface Design Show (SDS) has announced a new strategic partnership with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for its 2026 edition — reinforcing SDS’s role as one of the UK’s leading events for architecture and design.

Taking place 3–5 February 2026 at London’s Business Design Centre, the collaboration will see SDS host two of RIBA’s flagship annual events: RIBA Future Leaders and the RIBA AI in Practice Summit. Together, they’ll bring emerging architects, industry leaders and innovators under one roof for three days of learning, inspiration and connection.

As David Todd, Event Director at SDS, explains: “This collaboration gives us a chance to connect with new audiences and explore ideas that matter in architecture and design.”

Award-winning, B Corp certified design studio f.r.a. has delivered the wayfinding and placemaking scheme for Multistory, a bold new mixed-use destination redefining how people work, connect and unwind in Birmingham.

“We wanted every piece to express the building’s energy,” explains Jamie Trippier, Project Director at f.r.a. “Durat’s confetti terrazzo finish allowed us to match the brand’s palette while championing sustainability.”

Subtle local references, from woven graphics honouring the site’s former carpet factory to typography echoing the legendary Rum Runner Club, root the scheme in Birmingham’s creative spirit.

The result is a human-centred, environmentally conscious design that brings clarity, rhythm and connection to one of the city’s most forward-looking developments.

Margaret Howell will present an exhibition of Macrogauze wall hangings by pioneering British weaver Peter Collingwood (1922–2008), opening Friday 10 October – Sunday 2 November at 34 Wigmore Street, London.

Bringing together works from the 1960s to early 2000s, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to experience Collingwood’s intricate, geometric weavings up close. Developed on specially built looms, his Macrogauze technique redefined textile art through structural experimentation and sculptural clarity.

As Margaret Howell notes:

“The graphic quality of Peter Collingwood’s weavings has always appealed to me. They feel modern but grounded — shaped by a deep understanding of material, and a belief in what can be achieved through simple means and thoughtful design.”

DLSM Studio has completed the £2 million transformation of key social and event spaces at the prestigious Roehampton Club in southwest London — bringing renewed energy and timeless elegance to one of the UK’s most respected private members’ clubs.

The redesign, inspired by the narrative ‘Moments of Calm, for a Lifetime of Energy’, takes cues from the Club’s 40 hectares of landscaped grounds. From the Members’ Bar, with its Cipollino Verde marble and ribbed walnut detailing, to the south-facing terrace framed by striped awnings and timber decking, every space blends sophistication with a natural sense of calm.

In DLSM Studio’s hands, the result is a series of narrative-led spaces that honour the Club’s heritage while reimagining it for the next generation of members.

At the crown of Costa Rica’s Papagayo Peninsula, CHAPI Design has created a residence that blurs the line between architecture and nature.

Residence 22 at Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is the only private villa with a full 180-degree view over the Pacific and every detail is shaped by the rhythms, textures and colours of the land.

Led by designer Tatiana Sheveleva, CHAPI Design drew inspiration from the region’s dry and green seasons, layering deep forest greens, warm woods and golden tones to echo the landscape’s transformation. Inside and out, the villa flows seamlessly with its surroundings, from the sculpted marble bathroom opening onto a private garden to furnishings crafted by local artisans.
