Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) has become an associate member of British Equestrian, giving the charity an even stronger voice across the wider equestrian industry.

The new relationship will see RoR work alongside British Equestrian and its member bodies to champion Thoroughbreds beyond racing, with a focus on lifelong welfare, education and participation. 🌟

Around 2,300 Thoroughbreds retire from racing in Great Britain each year, with many going on to successful second careers across equestrian sport or becoming much-loved leisure horses.

The Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority (AMTRA) has begun the search for a new Chair as Michael Seals prepares to step down from the role in March 2027.

The organisation says it is entering its next chapter from a position of strength, building on growing recognition of the vital contribution SQPs make to animal health, welfare and responsible medicines use. 🌟

AMTRA is now looking for a new Chair who can provide strategic leadership, strong governance and ambassadorial skills, while helping to guide the organisation through its next phase of development.

Michael will remain in post during the recruitment process and support the handover to his successor.
