Hello and a Happy New Year to you all! 🥳
2021 was pretty epic but it's a new year, a fresh start and a great time to plan ahead for the future. We want this year to be bigger and better!
In 2022, despite the never-ending threat of Covid restrictions it would be brilliant if you could join us at an in-person meeting. We are so lucky to be able to continue to host these events for FREE in a space suitable for all our needs, including social distancing.
As you know, we all work hard to create our own opportunities and making our own work (on both stage and screen ) is one way of doing just that. Aside from the informal benefits of meeting up (who's casting, what's being cast etc) we also want to help focus the Sticky Floor events; we are now tailoring each session so you can plan what meet-up you'd like to drop in to depending on your goals for 2022.
We have scheduled the first three meetings, they are as follows:

Bring Your Own Writing
Share your writing, anything from ideas to monologues, showreel scenes to full plays, to hear your words aloud, discuss ideas and share feedback.
➡️ Friday 4th February 11:00am - 1:00pm
Filming
Prepare for 2 hours of filming, everything from TikToks to Reels, sketches to scenes, in a range of locations. Let's have some fun making comedy shorts!
➡️ Friday 4th March 11:00am - 1:00pm
Writing Partnership
A 2-hour session on writing for stage and screen. Attendees will be tasked with creating and writing a short scene either collaboratively or independently.
All sessions will take place at the Manor Lane Studios, Manor Lane, Holmes Chapel, CW4 8AF. There is parking at the location. Holmes Chapel train station is a 1 minute walk away. Bring your own mug! Tea/coffee and biscuits provided : )
Sticky Floor Performances 🎭
Looking ahead to 2022, SFP would like to produce an evening of performance in Manchester, focussing on female talent as writers, performers and directors. If this is a project you'd like to get involved with, please let us know via email at [email protected]. Let's make good things happen!
