What a fabulous time everyone had at the Yorkshire Choice Awards on Friday evening.

Janet was invited as a Patron of Ruddi's Retreat , who were up for the Charitable Excellence Award 2026.

Ruddi's Retreat were one of the four shortlisted out of 30 plus organisations. Sadly they weren't the overall winners but how wonderful that they were shortlisted.

Ali Waterworth, founder of Ruddi's Retreat, was also one of the nominations for the Inspirational Individual Of The Year 2026 Award.

Well done to the co-founders for the Yorkshire Choice Awards - Melanie Malcolm and Joanne Maltby for such a fabulous and entertaining evening.

And to Christa Ackroyd for being the main host of the evening.

Armed with her tablet, good Wi-Fi and a very decent view, she’s been keeping everything ticking along between island stops and sunset sails. Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying not to be too jealous!
