*** ZETLAND FM RECEIVES TOP VOLUNTEER AWARD FROM KING CHARLES ***
We have some incredible news to share with you... we are thrilled to announce that Zetland FM has been awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service by His Majesty the King!
The King's Award is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE for an organisation.
The award aims to recognise outstanding work by local volunteer groups to support their communities.
Zetland FM founder, chairman and Station Manager Jeremy Gartland called the award “an incredible honour” and “a tribute to everyone who has been involved with the station since we launched in 2015.”
Jeremy said: “For over nine years, Zetland FM has existed because of the dedication of our amazing team and the loyalty of our listeners, which I always find extremely humbling.
“A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes to provide a radio station which, we hope, local people feel is always there for them.
“To receive The King's Award For Voluntary Service is an extremely proud moment for all of us at Zetland FM.”
The King's Award was created in 2002 to celebrate the late Queen’s Golden Jubilee and was continued following the accession of His Majesty The King.
Zetland FM is one of 281 local charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award this year.
Recipients are announced annually on November 14 each year, which is The King's Birthday.
