📢NEW EPISODE

Are you a bit of a hoarder, finding it hard to let go of things in your home, even if they are taking up precious space, or are you a more of a Marie Kondo and have things bagged up and labelled for the charity shop as soon as they no longer 'spark joy'?

Whichever camp you're in, you should listen to our episode where we speak to professional declutterer and organiser Katie Wellman.

As Katie says, we work hard to have nice homes, yet often are so busy that spaces become cluttered and disorganised so we can't enjoy them as we should.

Katie shares some top organisation tips for listeners and discusses her work distributing the bits her clients don't want to those in need.

We also discuss Anna's relocation to Norway 😢(update to follow)

📢 New episode

This one is a delicious treat for your ears as we catch up with the uber-talented chef Jean Delport 👨‍🍳

South African-born Jean is executive chef at Restaurant Interlude at Leonardslee Gardens where he wows diners with his creativity and flair in the kitchen 🍽

In March, Jean won the hearts (and taste buds) of judges on the hit BBC TV series Great British Menu, earning himself the chance to cook not one, but two dishes for the final banquet 🙌

We spoke to Jean about his experience on the show, about the Michelin-starred restaurant he oversees, his love of local produce, his background and more.

🔊 NEW EPISODE

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert…

Anyone studying, or has recently studied GCSE English might recognise these as the first three lines of the poem Ozymandias.

The famous sonnet was written by the English romantic poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, who also wrote works such as Queen Mab and To A Skylark.

But how many of you knew that this literary great was born – and lived – in Horsham?

Born in Field Place, Warnham in 1792, Shelley never knew fame during his lifetime, but became somewhat of a literary rockstar after his early death, influencing many poets and writers including WB Yeats, Thomas Hardy and George Bernard Shaw 🖋

Not to mention that his second wife – Mary Shelley - also became a superstar of the famous gothic novel Frankenstein 📖

Despite Percy Bysshe Shelley's posthumous influence and literary reputation, many of us are unaware of the writer's connection to Horsham and know little about his life, other than his works.

However, our guests for this episode are among those looking to right (or should that be write) that wrong.

Carol Hayton and David Hide are directors of The Shelley Memorial Project a community interest company that aims to establish a lasting public memorial to Percy Bysshe Shelley and commemorate Horsham’s most famous citizen.

They joined us (appropriately) at The Shelley Arms - Broadbridge Heath to tell us all about Shelley and their work to put Shelley firmly on the Horsham map!
