The holiday season is near, and if your to-do list feels never-ending - you’re not alone.

Between work, plans, family stuff, and everything in between, it’s a lot.

As a business owner (and parent) I get it - this time of year ramps up fast.

That’s why freelancers like me offer short-term, flexible support to help you stay visible while you focus on everything else.

Whether you need a few posts created and scheduled, help planning out December, or cover while you take time off - I can keep your socials going!

Your clients are still online. They’re browsing, buying, planning, so let’s make sure your business is still visible.

No pressure, no faff, no long contracts. Just a bit of backup when you need it most.

Have you ever thought, ‘That seems expensive…’ when looking at quotes for digital marketing support?

It’s natural to compare costs - but it’s not always the full picture.

Because what you’re really investing in isn’t hours. It’s experience. It’s someone who’s spent years learning how to get results and who genuinely cares about doing it right.

Cheap work can end up costing more in the long run - in time, stress, and missed opportunities.

So when I price a job, it’s not about being the cheapest.
It’s about doing it properly - with care, clarity, and commitment from day one.

If that sounds like the kind of support your business needs, feel free to get in touch - I’d love to hear what you’re working on.

I am FOUR.
Well,  is! 🎈

Four whole years that feel so much longer.

Dozens of clients.
A couple of thousand new online connections (just passed the 3k mark - wahoo!).
And plenty of new ones in real life.
A mini MBA in marketing.
A professional diploma in digital marketing.
One rebrand.

I’ve built new client relationships.
With business owners, agencies, growth and innovation consultancies.

Worked with brands across care, companionship, finance, legal, foster care, retail, food, tech, and more.

I know how I work best, and what I’m best leaving well alone.

I never planned to go freelance.
For a long time, the safety of employment and a steady salary felt like the sensible option.

But the so-called ‘sensible’ option stopped feeling so.
And I found myself needing something a lot more flexible.
Something I was in charge of.

I had nothing to lose, so I took a chance on myself and cracked on.

No grand plan.
No plan B or stash of money in case it all went Pete Tong.

Just me, my Mac, a brilliant mentor Kerry Metz and a couple of clients who saw value in lil old me and what I could offer.

Four years later, I’m still here.
Still learning.
Still full of ideas I haven’t got to yet.

And it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
The best chance I ever took on myself.

Being able to collect my children from school, skip the breakfast club bill, take a walk, do a strength workout, schedule a blood test, and meet a friend midweek.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey.
Whether we’ve worked together, exchanged ideas, shared a kind word, or just connected online.

Here’s to another four years, or more!

Eight years ago! 🎈

The hardest thing I have EVER done.

Going from one child to three.
Ten days after moving house.
Five weeks earlier than expected.

Very little in the way of family support.
A five-year-old who still needed me.
And a partner working shifts - hands-on when he was home, but impossible when he wasn’t.

Some days felt endless.
Heavy.
Like I was just about holding it all together - but it could break at any moment.

Some memories will stay with me forever.

Living in the bedroom with the twins while my partner fought off a sickness bug.

Watching my son’s colour fade, his little body slower to respond, then suddenly being rushed to A&E, where he stopped breathing.

Wrestling two newborns into snowsuits, loading up bags, finally heading for the door - only for one (or both) to need a complete outfit and nappy change.
Back to square one.

The simplest tasks felt like climbing a mountain.
There were days I thought, I literally cannot do this.

Not because I didn’t want to - because it felt physically and emotionally impossible.

But I’m here.
Eight years later.

And what I know now is that you can do what you think is impossible.
Even when it really doesn’t feel like you can.

I don’t think you go through something like that and come out the same person.

And while running a freelance marketing business has its challenges,
It’s nothing compared to those early years with my now eight-year-old twins.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done, and what has it taught you?

Six businesses. Six months.

I worked with a group of business owners in Herefordshire to help them feel more in control of their marketing and more confident in communicating their offering.

The first step was understanding what they were unsure about, struggling with, or ready to change.

I'm really proud to be able to support businesses in this way and chuffed to have been invited back.

I can’t wait to get started on round two!

P.S. If you aren't sure where to start with your marketing, or just need a little bit of guidance,
I’ve supported plenty of businesses and would be happy to do the same for you.

Same offer.
Same price.
Same outcome.

But one just feels different.

Why?

Because of the little details they share.

Partnering with a local independent supplier,
Welcoming a new apprentice.
Raising money for a charity.
Introducing a new team member.

None of these things changes the product or service, but they do change how people feel about it.

They tell you something about how the business is run.
What they care about.
And what it might be like to buy from them.

Those are the details that build trust
and help someone feel more confident in their decision.

If you’re not sharing yours, you might be making it harder for someone to go from just noticing you
to thinking,

Slowing down to speed up.

August always feels a little softer.

Quieter inboxes.
Longer lunches.
People drifting off on holidays or simply stepping away from the usual routine.

It’s a slower pace I’ve come to welcome.

I always return from time away feeling a little different.

Not just rested.
Not just recharged.
But re-aligned.

I want to show up better.
Be more present.
Try something new.

Yesterday, jet-lagged and a bit foggy, I listened to a episode with the late .

It’s one I won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

💛 Sometimes kindness is just a hand on someone’s shoulder.
💛 We’re all in this together.
💛 Titles don’t matter.
💛 We all have the power to make things better.
💛 Stay close to the people who matter.
💛 Have more compassion and understanding for others.
💛 Never give up on what matters.
💛 Enjoy every minute of life - the big ones and the boring ones.

It reminded me *why* I started .

Kindness isn’t an add-on to my work.
It *is* the work.
It’s what guides every message, every project, every decision.

And honestly, it means just as much to me as getting paid. Maybe more.

P.S. The podcast is beautiful. Might want to have tissues handy. 🥹

Some of the most important parts of showing up, online or in your business, also happen to be the most uncomfortable.

Not because you’re doing anything wrong. Just because you’re human.

You don’t have to do it all perfectly.

But if you want support figuring out what to say (and how to say it), that’s where I come in!

Here I am.
On a hill.
The one I will die on.

Telling you this -
You do NOT need to be busy to have something to say.
It’s not just about ‘the work.’

It’s about YOU.

The things you care about.
What you’ve been mulling over.
What happened over the weekend.
Something wildly inappropriate your kid said.

The wobbly days.
The messy middles.
The quiet doubts.
All of it belongs here.

I’ve written about a kind neighbour
About my son moving in with his dad.
None of it was ‘marketing advice.’
And they really got people talking.

So if you’re waiting until you’re busy
Or winning awards.
Don’t.

You’re already interesting enough.

Now go say something.

P.S. If you’re not sure what to say because things are quiet with work, come and get me off this hill and let me help!

This was such a special project to be part of.

Supporting on their 2025 Global Campaign for Loneliness Awareness Week.

I created social content, listened closely to what people were saying online, and helped connect people to events and resources all over the world. Meaningful work with a team that truly cared.

Swipe through to see what they had to say 💛
And if you’re working on something with heart and purpose - I’d love to help.
