*IMPORTANT FOR TRAIN TRAVELLERS*

Huddersfield railway station will be completely closed for the posted dates, a plan that has been in place for years now though it will still likely come as a surprise to some.

Huddersfield station is set to close for 30 days between Saturday 30 August and Sunday 28 September to allow for the The Transpennine Route Upgrade engineers to continue to transform the 177-year-old station.

For more information on the work that will be carried out and how services will be impacted, please visit: https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/travel-updates/planned-engineering-work/huddersfield-station-closure

Please don't be one of these people!

We need to be supporting local pubs and eateries now more than ever.

When a quick phone call could make a big difference, it's not too much to ask, is it?

‼️ Already today we have 35 people that haven’t turned up for their bookings today!

We don’t mind if your plans change but the amount of people we’ve had to turn away today which could have filled your slot is mind blowing 🤯

If your plans change please let us know in good time so we have an opportunity to refill your table, running a pub in this climate is so difficult already without people constantly not showing up for their bookings.

This is becoming increasingly more popular especially on sunny days ☀️

Avian influenza H5N1 (also known as bird flu) has been confirmed at a premises in Mirfield/Ravensthorpe.
The risk to public health is very low, but it is important that people do not touch or pick up any dead or visibly sick birds that they find.

🚨‼️🔔 BIG ASS ANNOUNCEMENT! 🔔🚨‼️

As some of you may well know, we had our power cut off. We knew it was done in error, incorrectly & without proper process.

Well, after 10 weeks of what can only really be described as hell, and a hell of a lot of stress, cost & gladly, a lot of support from our friends, parïsh fam & our live music community we have been proved right and Pozitive energy have been told to reconnect us. Which they have now done!!

So hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen, the wait is very nearly over. We are going to take some time to make Parïsh a beautiful sight to behold for your return. We’re gonna have new food menus, new drinks, new bands & a new found love and lust for Parïsh life!

This has been a horrible time, and genuinely without the support from all of you we wouldn’t even of tried to get through it. Our community has proved how massive it is and we thank everyone who came to visit us in our temporary home for doing so.

We have to be honest though, this has put so much financial pressure on already struggling shoulders, we are now considering taking action to recover some of the losses we have accrued over the last 10 weeks. If we can do so, we will.

Let’s show everyone that Parish will not die, we want to continue to provide Huddersfield with banging live music, banging food & shenanigans for a long time. Come & keep us busy, that is the best way you can continue to help!!

We might poke you all a bit more frequently to buy gig tickets, buy our loyalty cards and most importantly come and enjoy the f**k out of Parïsh in its rightful place!

Now, on to the next battle!

Keep an eye out for updates as we have lots to share with you. We have a new way of running Parïsh & our live music offerings and we want to do more, we will let you know all about it over the next few weeks & months.

And finally, we gotta thank all our staff for their hard work & understanding throughout. Everyone has pulled together and everyone has suffered with us, so tip them, buy them drinks, and shake their hands!!

Big love ❤️

Loving the outpouring of support for Parish - and it's very much deserved.

Oh my absolute days.

You guys are AWESOME!

Genuinely & honestly the response to our post had such a huge effect on all of us involved at Parïsh, emotional is an understatement.

We will absolutely fight this fight as long & as hard as we can, and your messages, comments & love will make us fight harder.

Just want to say that so many people have offered money, crowdfunding etc and we appreciate that so much but we wouldn’t feel comfortable using people’s hard earned money to fight a fight we don’t know for sure we can win.

We want you to use your money to fight the fight more generally, especially in Huddersfield. Please go support local venues, local pubs, local record shops, cafes, charities. But also please try and support local independents!. Massive chain bars are S**T, massive chain shops are S**T. Local is where it’s at & in Huddersfield we are so lucky to have so many amazing independent ran businesses. Imagine how good our town would be with more of them.. Let’s get the amazing independents from the suburbs & the villages interested in coming to the town centre.. we can do that by showing them that the town centre is ALIVE!

Also, we won’t use examiner/yorkshire live to help us, because they have a massive part to play in the downward spiral of Huddersfield, so f**k them. But the amount of people who care about our situation says to us that this town can be saved, and it can become a unique & independent town, different from anywhere else and that difference will come from its eclectic mix of different people and different businesses.

So thank you all for your offers of financial support & crowdfunding but we can’t accept it in good conscience. Instead; do us a flavour and spend it in a local independent.

Peace out.

Your friendly neighbourhood Parish x
