Happy Friday! ✨

Does anyone else feel like this week just flew by?

I usually work from home, but this week was a little more active than usual. I travelled to London to meet a new client and plan their upcoming social content, and then spent a day in Cambridge capturing beautiful visuals for another new project. It was such a joy to witness the making process and all the small details behind their creations.

I also brought along a new professional light to help with filming, and wow, what a difference it makes! It’s always worth investing in quality tools that make my work smoother and elevate the final result. Thanks for your expert advice.

I really love continuously learning and finding new ways to improve the quality of what I deliver.

Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?

I’ll be heading to a Coldplay Candlelight Experience in St Ives with some friends, the perfect way to wrap up the week!

I had a fantastic time at Decorex this week, supporting my client with BTS filming and soaking up the incredible discussions from the panels. It was an eye-opener — the insights shared go far beyond interiors and resonate with many creative industries today.

Here are some key takeaways that stood out to me 👇

💡 The mid-market is shrinking.

Designers and suppliers in the middle range are feeling the pinch — fewer calls, tougher competition, and tighter budgets. Many would like to pivot towards the luxury market, but that space requires strong reputation, trust, and brand presence — it’s not something you can jump into overnight.

🤖 AI isn’t optional anymore.

The message was clear: those who don’t embrace AI will be left behind. It’s about using it smartly — not to replace creativity, but to make processes more efficient and stay ahead of change.

🎨 Creativity needs to be re-valued.

Clients are often driven by CGI perfection seen on social media, forgetting the deeper value of bespoke design — storytelling, emotion, and functionality. Designers must reclaim their value, communicate it clearly, and show the impact they create in people’s lives.

🌍 Relationships and storytelling matter.

In a world overloaded with information, authenticity and connection are what set you apart. Clients still “buy people.” They want trust, guidance, and personality behind the brand.

The takeaway?

The industry is changing fast — from AI disruption to evolving client expectations. But it’s also a moment of opportunity: to return to craftsmanship, originality, and genuine connection.

I was in Cambridge yesterday for my usual meetings and content creation day with clients. It’s such an exciting time, students are back, and businesses are eager to capture their attention.

With around 25,000 students flooding into Cambridge, it’s no surprise that local businesses are looking for ways to connect with this vibrant audience. Students are motivated to explore the city, discover new places, share their experiences and, of course, spend money! Once they find a favourite spot, their loyalty (and word-of-mouth) can be powerful.

So, how can businesses reach this audience? Student discounts are a good start, but they’re not enough. It’s about speaking their language, being visible in the right spaces, and collaborating with key venues and university partners.

At the end of the day, it’s all about creating the right experience and being memorable. Cambridge has a unique mix of students and tourists, so consistency in how you show up online, visually and in your messaging really matters. For example, video content performs especially well with younger audiences, so I’ve been developing that for my clients to help them connect on a deeper level.

I’m currently working on a social media project supporting a group of shops in the heart of Cambridge. This is my second year being involved, and I’m excited to experiment with new approaches and creative ideas.

If your business wants to reach this new wave of students, make sure you stand out and put a clear strategy in place so you don’t miss out!

Last week I had the pleasure of heading into London for a meeting with a potential new client. What a difference it makes meeting in person and seeing their business up close.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to build rapport with your connections — that’s where trust develops quickly and where you find yourselves on the same page right away.

This is a reminder to keep growing your network. The people around you are the ones who will think of you when they next need your services or can refer you to others.

Just recently I had a few people reach out for specific help, and I was more than happy to point them in the right direction.

You can spend all day writing posts for social media or blogs, but ultimately what really drives conversions is TRUST. Make this one of your priorities, and you’ll see your business flourish.

Join me this Thursday, 25th September, for a networking evening in Cambridge at the Station Tavern, 19:30–21:30.

Feeling blessed! Just back from our family holiday in Ireland, where we explored some amazing places, including one that’s been on my bucket list for a very long time: the Cliffs of Moher.

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and we were lucky with the weather too!

We got home very late last night, only to be up early this morning for a big moment, my daughter’s A-level results.

She collected her envelope from school and opened it at home in front of us. We could feel her mix of excitement and nerves. Then, as soon as she saw her grades, she burst into joy!

She has achieved the marks she needed to secure her place at her first-choice university.

Feeling proud and relieved, I’m over the moon for her! She’ll soon be starting an exciting new chapter, studying journalism at the University of Sheffield.

This has been the highlight of my week. Now I’m ready to dive back into work before setting off for another adventure soon visiting my family in Italy.

It’s that time of the month - get ready for another awesome PubNetworking event next Thursday, 31/7, at the Station Tavern, Cambridge, from 19:30–21:30.

Come and enjoy friendly conversation, a few drinks, and the chance to meet interesting people from the Cambridge business community. 🤝

This month, our speakers are James & James of Byrga Geniht. Their talk is called “Intellectual Property: More Fun Than You Think!”

They’ll briefly cover the work Byrga Geniht does in decoding English culture - work that absolutely demands well-protected IP. They’ll share some of the ways businesses can secure ideas, inventions, and discoveries, some of which cost nothing, some of which can be extravagant, and they’ll explain what happens when your IP is threatened.

The presentation will last about 20 minutes, and there will be plenty of time to connect and chat with other attendees.

It’s a great way to celebrate summer and whatever’s been good for you lately! 🥂

Come along and join the fun! 🤩 Book your ticket 🎟️ though the link in my stories or comment below and I’ll send you the link via DM.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible! 😊
