🧱 A London man has vowed to visit what is described as a ‘must visit’ attraction on a trip to the Erewash area.

✍️ Mark Amos took to social media to detail his plans having seen the ‘little tourist highlight’ he said had been reviewed on line, mentioning that it ‘may be the town’s answer to the mysteries of the universe...'

The parade returns to the town on Saturday 🎪

It’s expected to leave West Park at around 11am and return at 1pm.

Rolling road closures will be in place.

The theme for this year’s floats will be “through the decades” - marking how the carnival is nearly 100 years old.

But before that there will also be live music from 7pm today.

Armstrong’s Fun Fair will be at West Park the entire weekend.

And Erewash Sound will be at the carnival so say hello if you see anyone in a branded shirt!

We're absolutely delighted to announce that Gardener Steve has picked up a Silver Merit for his border at BBC Gardeners World Live which is being held at Birmingham NEC this weekend.

Taking to social media, he said: "Really chuffed...the whole process has been amazing. Looking forward to chatting to the visitors about it.

"Sorry I can't show anymore of the garden at this stage with people coming to see it 😀"

Lacemaker Court is one of eight care homes which will be disposed of 🗑️

A planned sale to a sole operator failed late last year.

All eight homes were vacated as of the first week of June, and Derbyshire County Council will now look at the process to "dispose" of the buildings.

Briar Close in Borrowash is also affected.

A 21-year-old was charged with a number of offences after the collision on Friday 🚔

A man, from Ilkeston, will appear at Derby Magistrates Court today.

He faces charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage recklessly endangering life, failing to provide specimen for analysis, and assault.

The incident saw a BMW smash through the wall of MFA Bowl and three people were injured.
