A total of 4,001 ducks were released into the River Wharfe at Sunday's Burley-in-Wharfedale Duck Race, and the five winning ducks completed the course in under 8.5 minutes, to loud cheers from enthusiastic supporters from the countdown at the start and to the finish line.

The winners were:
First (£100): Duck 1741 — Dan Sedlak (08:19.60)
Second (£50): Duck 1322 — Kaush Patel (08:20.06)
Third (£25): Duck 805 — Barton (08:20.31)
Fourth (£20): Duck 1282 — Bill Dale (08:21.41)
Fifth (£10): Duck 1701 — Grant Samuels (08:27.68)

One of Yorkshire's leading rugby festivals returns to Ilkley R.F.C on Saturday 4th July as the Flotilla Ilkley Summer 7s welcomes teams, supporters and visitors from across the North of England.

Now in its ninth year since the tournament's revival at Stacks Field, the event has become an increasingly important fixture in the rugby 7s calendar, attracting high quality men's and women's teams from across the region.

This year's tournament will feature three competitions, the Men's Open, Ladies Open and expanded Men's Social Cup, offering a full day of fast paced rugby action across multiple pitches.
